So funny!  Bexter does this also.  I think it is there defiant way of saying "I'll show you that grooming is a waste of your time, so you should probably not do it anymore!"

The President of the NDC would like you to know that it is not the "clean" that Vern is trying to rub off, but rather the article of clothing tied around his neck. WTG, Vernors!

I think he is really covering himself in his old smell, covering every inch.  At one point I thought he was going to fall off!  I loved watching Vern getting his roll on !!

Maybe Vern just doesn't like the smell. He does look like he wants to roll in something gross here, or maybe something with just his own old smell. Do they use some scented "delights" on him? Might just smell awful to a dog.
