Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?

Went against my vet's advice because my husband and I had fallen in love with doodles. My vet said to go to a dog shelter and get dog because we would be paying big bucks for a mixed breed dog. We bought a doodle anyway!!!

I don't understand. Why would getting a dog from a shelter be something to joke about? I adopted my labradoodle from a shelter and he is a great dog.
