Granddog sitting
Well it's two days away from our DD & SIL honeymoon to Greece. We were all set to take Lily the 2 year old boxer into our home for a 2 week stay while their friend was going to stay at their home to watch Sophie the 6 year old boxer/beagle mix, still convalescing from her back surgery.
Well as luck (for me at least) would have it their sitter for home can not do it after all. What does that mean for us you might ask, well that means Daisy and I get a 2 week vacation from cooking and cleaning up after DH while he stays and DD's house to take care of both their dogs. Sophie does not like Daisy so the option of her coming here is out. Since DH has to stay there anyway Lily will just stay at home with Sophie. It takes a lot of pressure off of me having to deal with 2 dogs at work and or daycare. DH works close to their home so it makes sense that he is the one.
Woohoo - the house will remain clean, the meals will be simple and Daisy and I can relax with our walks and outdoor play.
Can you say STAYCATION cause that is what I will have (even though I still have to work).

I will probably be on DK less....DH is usually the one that keeps Daisy happy in the evenings, which means I will be outside playing chuck-it, chasing her through the bushes and visiting friends in the neighborhood. Doesn't sound like work to me though!

I am enjoying a bit of a STAYCATION right now! My DH is on a six-day dove hunt and it's so nice to just do what I want (not a bad thing after 26 years of marriage! I'm sure he's enjoying his break too!) The dogs and I are having a great time...

I will have DH (and the granddogs) on the weekends....the work week will be weird but I plan on enjoying every minute of those 8 days to myself...probably Daisy will miss DH more than I (really I do love him) because he is her best friend.

This sounds like a perfect solution....although I'll bet you'll be real happy to have your DH back after two weeks. My DH and DS took a trip to visit his Dad a few months ago. Like you I was thinking.....vacation for ME. It was nice to have a little break, but I sure missed them after the week. It's great that you're available to help your DD like this. Have with Daisy!
