Dogs bite
Everything was fine at the beginning. 5 dogs were hanging around off-leash. One dog came to me and I petted him for a while. Then I continued speaking on the phone. The dog was still siting by my side. Camus came to me from the other side and when he came close enough, the other dog snapped and at the same moment I raised my arm and it was right between Camus and the other dog, so the dog bit my arm instead of Camus. The diameter of the wound is not big , but it is pretty deep and there was quite a bit of blood.
The sad part is that the other dog was a doodle. But that's not the saddest. The saddest was the owner, who didn't offer any help, who didn't say he was sorry and just said "My dog didn't bite you, there was no fight, it was an accident" and when I asked for his phone number just in case I have an infection or get some complication related to his dog, he yelled at me 'Do you want to sue me?' and started saying stupid things like I don't know the phone #, I can't see it on my phone screen, etc. That part hurt more than the bite.
A very nice lady who was there with her lab brought iodine and some bandage and band-aid from her car and helped me.

We are ok! Thank you every one. Sorry that I didn't write earlier. No infection. Just an ugly scar (I should have gone and get a couple of stitches).

The way the owner was on the defense so fast...Makes me think his dog has bitten before.

What a jerk! Tell Camus to "accidentally" bite him back.
I hope your arm is ok. Chewie got bit 3 weeks ago and the vet said bite wounds needs to be cleaned very very thoroughly. As the dog's teeth can deposit bacteria pretty deep into the wound which can cause infections.
Did the doctor prescribe you some any antibiotics?

This person is EXTREMELY rude. I personally would turn it in. I probably wouldn't have if he would have had an acceptable reaction, but with that reaction? HA! He needs to be turned in. I can't believe how rude some people can be. I hope you are doing okay. I do hate that it was a doodle too!

In our state.. all dog bites that are medically treated..are turned into the law enforcement agency. And an officer interviews you and the owner is found. If for anything for rabies shot verification! This guy is a jerk and needs to be turned in. I am sorry you had to go through this and hope for a swift recovery!

I hope you are going to a doctor. Puncture wounds can be very dangerous. You need to have this looked at right away. Even though it may appear to be minor now it could get infected easily. The owner of this dog is completely wrong. Nonetheless, your arm needs attention right away. Please take good care of yourself. I'm so sorry this absurd person is someone you had to deal with today in addition to being bitten.

I agree with all the other comments. That guy was a jerk and should have taken responsibility for his dog, although I agree that it appears to have been an accident that he bit you. If not you the dog would likely have bit your dog. Please be very careful of the bite. Our Mr. Jake once bit our cleaning lady and in two days she had a raging infection in her arm. Very painful requiring antibiotics and a few doc visits. We took care of all medical bills and paid her for time she had to take off; we stopped short of euthanizing Jake however. He went into a crate in DH office when she came over but eventually she fired us.
