Lucy has one favorite labradoodle friend at the dog park, named Reggie. Its always such a pleasure to find him there when we arrive. Those 2 could play for hours if we let them. Reggie's owners told me they were moving to the other side of town soon and didn't think they'd be making it to this particular dog park much anymore. So disappointing :( I will try to google search them, though, and see if maybe we can meet up occasionally on weekends for play sessions.

Poor Lucy! We also search for other doodles but Myla will play with any dog but I think you are right about the doodle play although we have goldendoodles.

I just started laughing when I saw "croc" in the title of your discussion-- we call our puppy Sam, our little crocodile-- because the first few weeks he would just walk up to everything and gently "snap" like a crocodile.  Now him and Ruby (our 1 1/2 yr. old doodle), and any other of our various doodle friends, look like goofy, furry crocodiles playing with each other. 

I had heard the word "kanga-doodle" in regards to the enthusiastic jumping doodles-- but crocadoodle is hilarious!

Our doodle and golden did the crocadoodle thing all the time. The golden was old so he would just lay on the floor with his mouth open and play with our goldendoodle. Sweetest thing.

That's wonderful to hear and I wish I was closer so Phoenix could play with Lucy.  My goldendoddle loves to play and we are now allowing him to play with selected dogs.  He has now received the last of his shots so I not as worried as I was before.  As new puppy parents we are learning something new everyday.

Clover goes to a play group occasionally that has another goldendoodle.  Until Clover started going Toby would not play with the other dogs.  Toby just wanted to play fetch with all the people.  On our first day going within 10 minutes Toby was playing like a puppy with Clover.  If Toby is gone, Clover will play with the other dogs but it is not the same. 

Apollo our lab will play crocodile style with Clover but not like another doodle where it is not stop all day long.

Hudson and Lily play crocadoodle all of the time! We don't have dog parks close by, and Hudson has never been to one, so I've never really thought about his play style being a Doodle style. Now that you mention it, my mom's German Shepherd doesn't play like that with his mouth, but he does do the play bow and chasing. Lily especially loves a good game of chase.

I used to organize a weekly Doodle Romp and no fail they would all stick together at the dog park even if it was the first time they had met. It really is an amazing phenomenon of Doodle nature. Plus it's a whole lot of fun for us humans to watch. Poodles are also very playful, my standard poodle will do full pirouettes in the air when she is excited..which does not take much. My moyen poodle can jump higher then any dog I've ever seen and does this funny little dance while standing only on her back paws if she thinks a treat is near. All my doodles and poodles are high jumpers. I've heard poodles being referred to as clowns and that they are indeed. I think maybe this is where our Doodles get their distinct playful and joyous nature.

You did hit on why I have two labradoodles. No more dog parks. Then the other day my neighbor brought her lab over. There was a momentary verbal, snappy thing from her at the outset, then I though they had all settled in. A little while later she had Luca down and was really going after him TG for doodle fur and luckily we got the not so lady like Grace Kelly off him. Needless to say she is dog non grata around here now. So as always I'm glad my two have each other.
