"It does and will get easier. I would be outside for ages trying to get him to go potty and it was freezing cold so it wasn't too much fun. I always kept him on the leash so I would know where he was even in the…"
"I totally relate to your nervousness about leaving your new puppy. I had the luxury of staying home with Auggie for the first couple of months. I considered hiring a dog walker but it was just as cheap to take him to doggy…"
"Doggie day care is the best $20 I have ever spent lol. Auggie loves it so much. he gets to interact and play all day long. He is so pooped at the end of the day that he just sleeps when I get him home and that means I can get…"
"The vet thinks it is a spring allergy. He recommended epson salt foot baths to get the pollen off his paws. He loves to eat dandilions and plants. He actually seems much better today, eyes look good and no chewing. I…"
"I have an Aussie that has had this issue for years and I have tried everything and the vet gave my different meds that never worked. Just recently I found out that with a simple blood test(need quite a bit of blood for a sample) that they can…"
"Finn does t have the fur issue but his left eye has been goopy for the last 2 days. A yellowish/white stuff and has a hard time opening and the third eyelid stays down. And he rubs it with his paw. I'm wondering about allergies or maybe a…"
"OMD! Auggie is so cute I can hardly stand it! What you are describing sounds like airborne allergies to me...both the goopy eyes and the leg chewing are symptoms. Spring is a classic time for these allergies to appear. "
A few days ago I noticed that Auggie has hardly any fur in a big patch on his leg due to chewing it like crazy.. Today he has really goopy eyes. He has been spending a few days a week at the doggie day care and I am wondering if this is some kind of allergy that he may have picked up there. He is on the same food [ TOTW puppy ] at 5 months that he has always had so I doubt it is food based. I am taking him to the Vet to get it checked out. But it sure seemed like it started when we began…See More
"We have given Auggie a very small fenced area. Heavenly Bamboo, a tree and we planted new sod so he would have a cool place to lie the rest is patio pavers. What trouble could he cause right? First he pealed the bark off the tree…"
"I am so sorry that you are going through this. It is amazing how our dogs poop is so important.
We feed grain free and I top with either sweet potato, egg maybe the occasional raw meat. He has only had loose stools twice, once when he got into…"
"Congrats on your new puppy ! Auggie loves paper so anything on the fridge, tables etc are going behind the couch for him to eat later. He also has chewed cords and pulled dish towels out of their holders. Our biggest issue is the…"
"What I did was look for doodle pictures with the cut that I wanted, printed it and took it with me to the groomer. I also searched for groomers to make sure they had experience with scissor cutting doodles. I think going in…"
Looking forward to our first labradoodle after the first of the year. I haven't even gotten my first puppy yet and I am already anticipating a second puppy. I can see how you could become addicted to this breed.

Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
First of all, they are so crazy cute. But, I love the combination of breeds.

Take a look at the photos on my page, Kris. I have two doodles right now (actually three because we have a guest doodle for a few weeks) and my large doodle is 90 pounds and the "little guy" is 50 pounds. I told my husband that I don't worry when I am walking them out in the woods because I have 200 pounds of dog with me. (Our guest is 60 pounds).
The grooming is not a problem for us, but today I did not take the dogs to the beach because I did not want to give baths to three dogs this afternoon. I will take them out tomorrow while my husband rides his bike. We normally do that three times a week. You have a lot of fun times ahead. There are so many great places to walk in your area. We had really considered moving to Grants Pass a few years ago.
I love chocolate doodles too. We are getting a second puppy in the next couple of weeks and he is predominately cream with chocolate head, ears and some other parti markings. I am so excited to see how Charlie will react to having a brother. They have the same father, but different mothers. Charlie will be 2 this coming Dec 18th. thank you for the friend request.
Christine ~ thank you for the friend request. When is the birth of your little puppy expected. Are you getting your puppy from a breeder in Oregon? We live in Richland, Wa which is not that far from the Oregon border! I hope you enjoy this site and I cannot wait to see photos of your little puppy. Thank you for your compliments regarding Charlie - he is definitely my heart dog.
Oh, you don't need to worry about it. It really comes naturally like having a baby. But do take and post lots of photos. We would love to share the experience with you. We have always done our own grooming because we had the time and the inclination. Our dogs have never been boarded or been to a groomer. When my husband did a remodel on our house (turned the old garage into his workshop), I said I wanted a dog washing area and so it was built into our laundry room. Our dogs walk a ramp to get up to the sink and step down into the sink for their bath. It has just always been a part of their life. When we care for other dogs, however, they are a little more reluctant to come to their bath so eagerly. Start your training right from the beginning with lots of handling and play with them. Have a great time. You have a few months to get ready. Enjoy.
Welcome to Doodle Kisses and I was interested to see that you live in Medford and are already a doodle fan. I have had doodles for many years and have our third one now. We also have been doodle sitting this summer and have our third guest right now. She goes home on Tuesday. Your life can definitely change with doodles. My husband and I are both retired and they are our excuse for even more exercise that we already get. You are right about having more than one. But, when you start with multiple doodles, they get so dependent and involved with one another, that you can never go back to having just one dog. Good luck on your journey.
