If you are patient and flexible, I think you can get any kind of dog you want. There are always people who need to get a new home for a dog who has lost their family somehow (older master passes away) or family moves, etc. It doesn't happen frequently, but it can happen. You do know, of course, that doodles are very active dogs generally and require a lot of exercise. My husband and I are retired and have the time to spend with our dogs, but they like at least an hour of exercise (walking, biking, swimming) daily. It keeps us active also. So keep on looking and put out the feelers if you think you really want an "older" doodle. BTW doodle romps are great places to meet doodle owners. Look for one in your area.

Nancy, Ned, and Clancy said… Welcome! This is a great place to learn about doodles. There are many groups that you can join. For example, there are groups for grooming, nutrition, health/medical, types of doodles, puppy groups etc. Look at the top of your page and click on Groups - check them out. Look at the top under HELP and click on how to choose a breeder. Enjoy!
