"Take lots of pictures! It will be hilarious! He will lift his legs at first and then probably totally immerse himself in the experience. If he has to go, he will go anywhere but make sure you take pictures of his first experience!"
"I'm pretty sure you can plant grass seed any time - you just want to make sure that it doesn't dry out before it germinates - I think spring is ideal because it's not that hot out, but we have a huge turf farm down the road and he…"
"What a great picture! I know that I would also use an e-collar if my dog's safety depended on it. I have always wondered if the dog would always have to wear it or if they would figure it out after a few days. You have just…"
"I'm so sorry that you got this diagnosis! I have no advice other than to make sure you talk to your breeder - as Karen says, if she's reputable she will reimburse you costs and also make sure that she doesn't breed the parents…"
"I'm a bit confused with the electric fence. If you place it at the top of the split rail fence and your dog jumps over it, even if your dog touches it, he wouldn't get zapped because he's airborne - I think you have to be…"
"If you go into the group home page, on the right hand side of the page near the top (above members), there is an icon that says "Leave Group" - just click on it and go from there I'd imagine. I haven't done it."
"Maisy sounds like she's pretty well-adjusted. I am not an expert by any means, but I would think that Maisy is just starting to "guard her territory". I honestly forget what happened when Myla was that age, but if she is…"
I am retired and married to the greatest guy for 37 years. My DH still works but only weekends so we have lots of time to go camping, hiking and kayaking! We have three wonderful grandchildren, ages 8, 2 1/2 and 5 months old!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We have a beautiful F1 goldendoodle whom we named Myla! She was born March 12/12 and she is a snuggler - and a digger and a chewer!!! We love her to pieces!
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Six years ago there was an ad in our local paper and I had never heard of them but was intrigued so I "googled" them and fell in love so we bought one. Unfortunately she passed away last year but we would never have anything else now.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
We do a lot of hiking, camping and kayaking but she is still a bit young for the hiking and I am a "fairweather kayaker" so it has to warm up a bit to go but so far she loves camping and we love playing fetch and of course snuggling!!!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Hasn't been groomed yet - she's 12 weeks old tomorrow.
Favorite Doodle Products?
Nylabone and stuffies!
Would you be willing to Dog Sit on occasion for other DoodleKisses members? (You are NOT committing to anything by saying yes - you are just saying you might be willing to do this if you were acquainted with the other member and the circumstances were right.)
I see from the latest postings that you are still around. I got one of Sharon's first sheepadoodle puppies and she is darling. It took a while but worth waiting. Meet MonaChica. She is feisty, independent, stubborn, and sneaky, but we love her anyway.
Thanks, Wendy. I hope you got the address for my mom. It has been hard, but the doctor says she will walk again. We are hopeful. It is hardest on my sister who lives in the same town :) LOL I am going home soon to help, but it doesn't give my sister the relief she needs. We are hoping she can get a Home Health Aid to take care of the many errands my mom needs someone to do :) Very frustrating for my mom that she can't do stuff for herself. Thank you for our concern!!
Wendy, we get our dogs water collars from hotdogsalldressed. They call them hydro collars and you can customize them. Our dogs have had the same collars for 3 years now and they look and smell like new.
We "found" Ned when we were camping in our RV in our favorite summer spot. We didn't take him then because we wanted to think it over to make sure we wanted a third dog. Well, thinking lasted less than a week because we drove the 500 miles round trip the next Saturday to pick him up! Myla is really a cute doodle.
