- About Me:
- I am married with two daughters, both recently graduated from college. I am "retired" and very lucky to be able to stay home with our two doodles.
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- We have Koda, a 5 year old dark chocolate F1b labradoodle from Hales Labradoodles and Levi, a 1 year old goldendoodle from Spring Creek. And last, but not least, Oliver and Calvin, our mini-dachshunds, both left us in 2008. They are cuddling together again, forever pain-free and happy. Until we meet again, missing you weiner boys terribly... 12/31/08
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- We were looking for a more allergy-friendly big dog to join our two mini-dachshunds four years ago. We have since lost our little "weiner" dogs and added another doodle!
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- Walk them, watch them play, brush them and just LIVE with them!

- A little bit but nothing major
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- I do!

- Way north of the grapevine. We are just about an hour and a half south of you on Hwy. 101 (north of Salinas). If you haven't been down here, be sure to schedule a trip. Monterey County is wonderful and Carmel Beach is the best dog beach anywhere around here.

- Hey Susan - We have a lot in common, not the least of which is our doodles. Do you ever come down this way? Love to meet you at the beach. My labradoodle (Hondo) is five years old, and my goldendoodle (Groucho Too) is 2 years old.

Lola Wimmer said… - Your Levi is adorable! Lola is very soft as well, she has the curly fleece coat. She gets lots of knots in her coat too.....She is about 29lbs. and 18 inches. She is very snuggly and wants to be by my side at all times. Wish we lived closer, we could have play time.

- By chance is your 1 year old from Treasure and Trusty at Springcreek? My Lola just turned a year and is an F1B Goldendoole from these parents. Both of your doodles are beautiful!

- Your doodles are really great looking. At the feed store you can get products for horses. Cowboy Magic is one of those brands. They have shampoo, conditioner, a "salve" you put right on a mat before brushing it out. They don't have a spray-in detangler (like the one you use for kids). Another brand - The Original Horse Mane and Tail Detangler has a spray in conditioner. These products are have silicone or something slippery. You don't rinse it off. The products help prevent matting and help you brush the mats out. Ned mats a bunch - hope it is a puppy thing but..... I spray him with the detangler and brush. It really helps prevent and with comb outs. I take the detangler and shampoo and conditioner to my groomer to use on him also. Ned still mats but so far I am able to keep his fur long which I like. If I were able to groom him myself I think these products would make it bunches easier. Hope this information helps.

Danielle said… - Hi Susan...yeah it's so funny when I hear about other Koda's too! Koda got his name the same way - only Brother Bear wasn't in the theater at the time. He reminded me so much of a bear cub though and I love Disney and the first thing I thought of was Koda. :)
