OMG. Your doodles coat is very unique! I thought he was a chocolate? He looks like an espresso or a mocha! He's gorgeous!

I think the crate would be safer but I would have issues about crating them to long at a time to me it seems cruel.

Toka is very cute!! I did take Charlie out to use the bathroom everytime she woke up and whimpered when she was a very little puppy. It was tough beause she was born on 12/16, and it was really cold and snowy outside then. But it did not take long b…

Mine did too as a puppy, then we were told to feed her just 3 times a day as a puppy instead of free-feeding and then take her outside to do her business. It worked perfectly, she goes after she eats instead of all day long. Hope this helps.

I too am possessed with yard poop cleaning and am relieved when I see the girls are ready to go. They eat well morning and night and are very HEALTHY, as their residuals show.

I've got something wrong with me. I'm obsessed with poop. I'm always out in the yard trying to find it - looking at it - trying to find out whose it is - consistency - does it look like soft serve ice cream or tootsie rolls. When did they do it? I'm…

His taste my change when he is bigger, he may grow to appreciate soft furry things as a grown up.....so I would keep it. Shiloh prefers the floor or tray of the crate....but Fenway loves his crate pad....I have the soft ones that look like lambskin.

Samantha used to be on a 2x's a day schedule, 10a and 4p religiously but for the past week she seems only going only once every 24 hours. I am not happy about the change in her schedule but what the poop can you do?

It all depends on the age. I took Max out three times overnight in the beginning. Then as the months went on I decreased it until one day I decided it was time to try the entire evening. It went fine and I've slept soundly since. We got him at 7.5 w…

WOw. You're good :D I have a hard time remembering who posted what! But yes, I am GLAD :D But, does that mean I have to return his bigger pad? Maybe I should I keep it just in case! It's like a bed for the crate.
June 9, 2009
You are so right-it is worrisome when they do not go. Sometimes I even go into the yard to see if I missed it or something.
June 9, 2009
Aren't you glad you didn't bother with that whole crate pad and bumper set up now? =)

You know, the first day I took him home it was VERY soft. Yesterday (second day) it was diarrhea, but I figured it was due to the worming or vaccine. I saw two worms yesterday :( Poor guy! His belly is hard and the vet said it's because of the worms…

That's great that you work at home! I do too, but I'm actually stopping my home business because we are moving :D More time with pup!

I took out the pad I had in there because he seemed to like the kitchen floor better. I put a towel through the day and he seemed to like it. I decided to take the whole thing out and put a pee pad instead and he is doing great. It's weird though ..…

P.S. If the crate seems a little too big, you might put some old towels or a blanket in there. I found that old towels worked well because they could be bunched up easier and were much easier to wash if the pup had an accident! It also makes it more…

When Penny was a pup I took her out about every 3-4 hours (at night) the first 3-4 weeks. I would hear her start moving around in the crate and figured "better safe than sorry." She only had one poop in her crate, the first night. As she grew and co…

Only here could we be writing, laughing, and comparing doodle poops! LOL Penny started out as a major pooper but once she became an adult, she slowed down to about 2x a day. She is so on schedule (down to the hour) that when she doesn't go, I get wo…

A Ball of Fluff!

In five days we will be bringing home Toka! It's amazing how different he looks from two weeks ago! I'm still not sure if he will be curly, but either way, we love him! In some of the pictures he seems shaggy, but in this one, not so much! Could the days be any slower?!

Meet Toka

We visited Toka today and we just got back about an hour ago. I had to share the pictures we took because he is getting cuter by the week! Our friend Tim came with us and he fell in love with the Goldendoodles—I wouldn't be surprised if he adopts one in the next few months. Kai absolutely loved the puppies! After a few minutes of being reserved he opened up and couldn't get enough of them. He's been talking about his Toka since we left. Three more weeks and he'll be in our arms! We miss him alre… Continue

The picture you responded to is a doodle we met at a romp. Her fur and hairstyle is very poodle looking. Ned's puppy fur was very similar to Toka's. At 14 months, he is really curly under his chin and behind his ears and totally straight on his tail. I am sending a picture of how Ned looked at Toka's age and how he looked at three months when we brought him home.

haha, I know what you mean though since it's hard to predict what a doodle will look like. I don't think it's odd to worry so much because dogs are practically like children who never grow up! And god willing, you will be living with little Toka for the next 12+ years! I hope everything goes smoothly this weekend - I can't wait to see pictures of Toka.

Are doodles becoming really popular in England? They are very popular in NYC right now.

LOL, Stephanie, I saw your forum post and have been meaning to respond to it! Noah has two different types of hair. When he was a baby, he had curly hair on his face, legs and ears - his ears were the curliest of all. His back was wavy. Now that he's almost 8 months old, he's curly/wavy all over - ironically, his ears are the least curly now, they almost look like spaniel ears. His back is really curly and his sides were soft of a wavy curl - I think this might have been old puppy hair though. I had him groomed a few days ago so it will be interesting to see how the hair regrows. I live in NYC where everything is generally overpriced so it's around $70 for a full grooming. I would like to learn to groom myself, but it seems like more of a hassle.

I have never seen a funny looking curly/wavy doodle - I know Toka will be just beautiful as a puppy and adult. I know how you feel though. Doodles look so different and especially as puppies, they change rapidly in looks from week to week. Judging from Toka's pictures, there is NO WAY he will be funny looking. He looks a lot like Noah looked like as a puppy - curly head and legs and wavy hair on the back.

Hi Stephanie,
The good thing about a curly doodle is that the odds are better that the dog won't shed. My maltipoo doesn't shed, and I didn't really want another dog that would shed - I grew up with a golden retriever so I know about shedding lol. The only thing is that I have to have Noah groomed every 2 months, but it's better than dealing with hair all over my furniture and clothing. Toka is adorable - I can't wait to see more pictures of him! I think he will be curly/wavy and very very cute.
