Profile Information

About Me:
I lost my previous dog Romie to bladder cancer on August 18th, 2008 at only 8 yrs old and never thought I would get another dog again. However, a wise man told me that this was THE worst reason not to get another pet because when one is sent away to doggy heaven, opportunity presents itself to meet a new friend - to develop a new bonding longlasting relationship. So became Joey!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Joey is a mini sized apricot/cream goldendoodle. We have only had him since November '08 but already recognize that he is fleecy, soft bundle of pure love! What a great addition!
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Adorable faces, minimal to no shedding, and sweet temperaments - how could you not? My goal is to join the therapy dog team for the hospital I work at eventually...
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
So far, fetching has been a passion!
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Probably my hubby.
Favorite Doodle Products?
So far, really soft toys... not so much the everlasting treat ball thing that everyone raves about. Thinks he's too young for that still.
Relationship Status:
Married

We had so much fun at the last romp, hoping there will be another soon. Luka's first went well.

SOrry for the quite delayed response. I don't often check out my kisses site. I got Cayenne from Hey Dood in Stevenson Montana. She is 50 pounds. We thought she'd be much larger but are okay with her size. She has a lovely personality and has been very healthy. She has a little bit of seasonal allergies (evidently were allergic to the same things) but it's easily remedied by a naturopathic additive to her diet. She's smart too. Maybe by now you've gotten a doodle?

Hi Sine, I have not written in forever. I hope you are doing great and I can tell Joey is doing really well. I sent a not on the web about the past year. I have a question for you...I have gone through surgery with Molly and so many vet visits they teased me that I should just rent a room. She has had a ton of stomach...gastric problems. Have you experienced any problems with Joey? Apparently Molly has reflux, ileitis, and just plain digestive issues. Now she is on medication to help control her vomiting. You have not heard of any issues with any of the other pups from this litter have you? Thanks for your help....have a great week. Lizette

Learn something new everyday. You didn't know how lucky you were! I nearly jumped out of my chair screaming "thats goonie beach!" Then about half the office went on a wild internet search to see if I was right. We have a bunch of goonie fans over here. Now i'm going to have to watch the movie again this weekend. Just what I need. To see it for the 101 time.

Darbey is 5 months tomorrow! I have heard about a lot of people recently who took their dogs into be groomed and the dogs were shaved when they picked them up. I overheard one man complaining to the manager at our local Petsmart because he didn't want his dog shaved and they shaved him. The manager was saying that when there are matts they have to shave them. I think it is more that the groomers are lazy or in too big of a hurry to try and get the matts out. I try to brush Darbey at least every other day. I've only taken her to the groomers once and that was to get her bangs "trimmed". They chopped off her bangs and shaved her nose! I was really upset. The picture of her with the bunny was about 2 weeks after that cut. Notice how you can really see her eyes! Anyway, you will probably like the shaved body for the upcoming summer, especially if you go to the beach often. I'm sure he will dry a lot faster!!!!

We have the wide size medium flex brush (the big red one) because Oski's pretty big & has a thick fluffy coat. If you go to the www.doodlecountry.com website they have guidelines (as well as online help) to help you choose the right brush.

I want pix of Joey in his new faux fur coat! LOL

Ooo, pink naked Joey! He'll be just as cute, just super skinny looking, lol

FYI: You might want to consider getting a Les Poochs brush for him--the bristles are much longer than traditional slicker brushes & the detangling side really works well to get out mats. It works great on Oski http://www.doodlekisses.com/profiles/blogs/viva-les-poochs

Give her a call! There was a lab mix with "issues" that snarled, growled, and barked at Leo in one of his classes and Debbie was really straight forward with the owners and let them know that their dog didn't have appropriate social behavior for a group class. They continued the class but didn't sit near the group and Debbie sprayed the dog continually for inappropriate behavior.
Who knows the dog/owner may drop out of the class too so go back next week and see.
During the classes that we took we had a several people that came the first week and then never showed again without calling Debbie (some of which were a good thing...).
Debbie would certainly refund/comp the class for you if it really didn't fit though.
