Hurley was in the car with us for about 2500 miles. He slept alot and then the rest of the time just sat in the back on his blanket looking out the window. He was really great. Before the trip he was much less relaxed, especially when we were anywhere near the the vet! It's almost like he could sense that is where we might be going. Our vet is also where we have boarded him a couple of times (two or three days at a time). They say he is really great while he is being boarded, but I think he really, really misses us terribly. When we pick him up he goes crazy! Since we got home from the vacation he seems much better in the car and more relaxed. I think he isn't as worried about car trips meaning that he's headed to the vet or to be left now.

charlie has become a teenager for sure; OBSESSED with socks, considers anything we drop on the floor fair game. he has destroyed most of his toys playing so i bought him a few for "birthday presents" most of them already destroyed.

same with us and the matting; for a long time i didn't have to brush so often; now if i miss a week it is crazy what happens; i am happy it will get better when the "puppy coat" is all out.

We are really having matting issues with Hurley, too. Especially on his legs. I think keeping him a little shorter is the answer for now.
