Oh yes! What a day! Today was a beautiful moonlight morning and the dogs were enthusiastic to go out so I let them out at 2:30 with moonshadows on the deck. Harpo immediately jumped over the fence which he has been doing recently to chase a cat. I called and waited several minutes and Groucho came into the house. I went back to bed thinking Harpo would come to the door soon, but he did not. At 3:00 I got back up and went out to call him again. Still no Harpo, so I got my robe and…

Kyoko said… West VA is like an hour away... We have family reunion every other year and this is the year!! My family is located about 45 min. from Myrtle beach....Last time, we did not stay long enough to go to the beach.... Last time we went, I think my oldest son was still living with me and did not go, because he could not get the time off from work. So that he was able to care for the dogs while we were gone. ( Butter was alive.) If we go this year, I would have to board both of the dogs, and I am a bit concerned about it because of how Charlie is. They were a bit disorganized this year and we did not get informed until last minute, therefore I did not book the boarding kennels, did not put aside enough $, etc...I almost want to say to take the dogs with us..... sigh.....This is why I am leaning towards not going....
Kyoko said… Oh my goodness. Monroeville is like 10 min. from here. We are debating on going to our family reunion in South Carolina ( Its just a looong drive...) or not. I am leaning more towards not going....Once I make up my mind, I will let you know!!
Jay and Lola said… Yep - I just felt a little shiver thinking about the moment in Germany you just described. Sound of the L-Twin and the clicking of the dry clutch ... nothing like it. There are motorcyles, and then there are Ducatis...
Dee & Chloe said… Lynda, Coming up your way may just be a possibility in the future. I just agreed to meet Gina and Nancy in Arroyo Grande in July. If all goes well with my "first" longer trip with Chloe and with my new equipment, then I plan to venture out more and more. That was one of my goals once I got the new oxygen unit. Chloe still needs a lot of work and definitely cannot be off leash at this point.

Dee & Chloe said… Lynda, I think Carmel is one of the most beautiful places in California. My parents moved to Salinas while I was in grad school and so I used to go to Carmel a lot. I haven't been there in many years and unfortunately I don't travel very far due to being on oxygen 24/7. I just recently bought a 2nd portable concentrator which I can wear in a backpack and have used it for classes with Chloe. So who knows!
I love any kind of supernatural literature including timetravel, witches, vampires, etc. I read historical, historical romance, suspence, mystery, action, intrigue, pretty much anything except biographies, self help, and history. My favorite timetravel book is Timeline by Michael Crighton (I've read it 5+/- times) but was very diapointed in the movie. I wasn't the Outlander series biggest fan, a bit wordy for my taste; it took too long to set up the story and get into the heart of the book. I'd have to hit my library (at work right now) to list more but I'm thinking many of them were romance and probably had a highlander or two in the picture.
I'm currently reading the King and Maxwell series by David Baldacci and just yesterday someone told me the series was made into a TV series so I'm extra excited about that as I'm thoroughly enjoying the books.
Gardening and photography are a couple of other hobbies but with kids in college, I don't own the equipment I would love to have. I'm envious as some of our DK family members have REALLY nice cameras!
Thanks for the personal note, it's always great to hear from friends!
Nancy, Ned, and Clancy said… Either e-mail is fine. Suggestion for your poison oak - salt water. My dh swears that salt water will cure poison oak. He has had it twice and went to the ocean - it looked better immediately and then quickly healed. Many years ago my nephew got it badly and it wasn't healing with meds so we took him to the ocean and it was like magic for him also. I know you take your dogs to the beach often - maybe a dip in the ocean will help your dood in the places that are too hairy for his medicine? Let me know it you try it and if it works.
Nancy, Ned, and Clancy said… It is so fun to be able to play with the photos. I don't know how but really need to learn. Kudos to you for following up with your fun retirement to do list.
Kendyl & Will said… Oh wow I Googled the sheepadoodles and boy are they good looking! I might have to convince Will to get one when she figures it all out, I will definitely be asking many questions about it when we go visit in a couple weeks. I like Sharon a lot and am glad to have found someone that is really into her breeding philosophy and can confirm all the good feelings I am having. As for the sneaky young stud, yes it is her phantom poodle Darby. He is very handsome, and the mother is so cute. I think the litter is going to be one of the best.. but I am biased of course!
