"So far I've been impressed seeing invisible fences that work!   But your story of your sheepadoodle reminds me of a husky mix I had.  We put out a bark deterrent and she figured where it was and chewed it up within 2 days!"

"Oh, I would add to that that a harness works better than a collar.  I started with the dogs on harnesses, but now that they are accustomed to the routine, collars work fine."

"We do it.  I walk two at a time, and my husband walks three at a time.  When I get the three together, it is just too much for me.  Any two are fine.  My husband made a special double leash and it hooks onto any leash.  I…"

Invisible fence

We decided to give it a try rather than purchase a $6,000 gate.  We do not want to keep people out, but do want to keep our dogs in.  We hired some local teenagers to dig the trench and my son came down from Seattle to install the fence.  We have about 2,000 ft. of fencing, some along existing fence lines and others across the yard.  Then the training.  For one dog it was no problem at all.  He never leaves our side and follows all commands.  The second dog took three shocks before he decided…See More

"Beautiful pup and beautiful coat.  F1b mini - you can't do much better than that.  My guess would be more apricot for the color, but things tend to change with our doodles.  My dogs have tended to get lighter with age.  I…"

Lynda Kamrath replied to Sydney's discussion Sable, Phantom, or both?
"He is a darling pup, but I don't think a phantom.  The markings on his eyebrows when he was a puppy made it look like he could be a phantom, but it is not enough color variation.  That makes sense if he is 50/50.  When a phantom…"

"I totally agree with you, Karen.  Breeding is so much more than having a great dog to start with.  All pets should be neutered and spayed.  Animals that make it into the shelters or SPCA have to be neutered or spayed before they can…"

Lynda Kamrath replied to Rocco's Mama's discussion Labradoodle breeding
"First of all, you need to have all types of testing done.  It is difficult to get your dog certified as a stud dog and then to find the bitches to breed him with.  I have had beautiful dogs with all the testing done on their parents, but I…"

Are you all moved?  How do you like your new place?  Was it much rainier than you expected?

Good luck with the move.  Closing and moving is stressful.   I'm the Oregon Christine.  I was just thinking about you and your doodle.  Our sweet girl is loving playing with other dogs and we're excited to have spring come back so we can get out on hike more.   I was looking at doing a couple of hikes/day trips down toward's Grant's pass this spring.  Perhaps we could meet up.

Oh my, stressful!!! Good luck with the move! We did CA to IN last spring... don't plan on repeating that soon! Good thing she has her siblings with her. I'm in two groups, Sheepadoodle Lovers and Sheepadoodle Luv. The former is VERY active. You'll end up getting to know everyone's dogs, and they share a lot of great information.

Yes, after we lost Martha, I changed my profile here to Missing Martha. A year later, we got Scully. Complete opposite personality from our laid-back girl who did therapy work. Scully is much more lovable and more dependent, but also more high-strung and waaaay more sociable with other dogs... not as much with people, so therapy work isn't in his future. He was a bit of a challenge for me to train as a puppy, but he's blossomed into a pretty good boy! We still watch him like a hawk, but generally he's a gentleman. He turned two in September. What about yours? Are you in any of the sheepie groups on Facebook?

Hi Lynda and doods,

She's only 3.3 pounds when we went to the vet today, and wont go over 20 lbs.  Thanks for having us as friends.

When we went to the Dewey Doodle Romp we saw doods of many colors. I don't do that to mine either, I just put a bright orange waterproof bandana on their necks. It makes them really easy to spot in a sea of white/tan doodles.

Thanks Lynda!  This is my dog Tucker ("Tuck").

This was when he was a few months younger.  He is now 1 year and 2 months and been shaved once since he broke his leg.  His hair under all that has turned out to be curly like his poodle dad, Flash
