Any other doodles out there from Spring Creek in Oregon? Would love to hear about other "relatives" and "friends." My Ozzie is a Jilin-Trusty pup (F1B black) shown in the picture.
I am a retired medical scientist from Stanford University Medical School. I have lived in California for the last 30 years, but was born a Texan!!! Graduate school in Pittsburgh, PA. I love to travel, read, hike. I continue professional activities at the Med School and am a consultant for stem cell associated issues.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Ozzie is an F1B labradoodle from Spring Creek Labradoodles in Oregon. He was my retirement gift to myself since there was no time during my professional career for a doggie. Now he is the most important little boy in my life. He is 4 years old. We are a certified Delta Society Pet Partner team for complex facilities. We visit nursing homes and participate in a READ program for 5th-6th graders. We do competition and he now has a Rally Excellent title as well as his CD title for novice obedience. He is an agility dropout! We are now working towards the CDX for advanced obedience.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Allergy issues for me. I had also met doodles at romps and it was love at first sight. The wonderful dispositions and cuteness....how could I resist???
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Hiking, walking, going to doggie camp, doing our therapy visits, hanging out with Ozzie asleep in my lap!
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Local groomers...we are still trying to find a good one.
Favorite Doodle Products?
Doggie ice cream, chicken drumsticks, cheese, Wubba Wubba kong toy, squeaky balls, anything for playing tug!!
Hope you get this message in Carmel. Give me a call at 663-3823. I would love to meet up with you. I want to talk about stem cell research and doodles, of course.
So what are the plans? I am not planning on working this week and can meet you either Wednesday or Thursday. Carmel Beach is our favorite place, of course, but today we went down to the Asilomar Beach. The dogs can be off leash there also, but there were several dead things on the beach and Groucho Too rolled in the carcas of a Calif. sea lion and we had a heck of a time trying to get the smell off of him. It took three baths, one with skunk spray neutralizer and the last with Technu. But, there is a great restaurant right on the end of the beach called The Fishwife. There is a shaded parking lot across the street where I leave my dogs while we go to lunch. So, whatever you like! Give me a time and place and I will meet you and Karen.
Lucy, I emailed you awhile ago regarding joining local Doodle romp, did you get my email? I got Meelow from the Paw Pad. here is my email: pamelafang@gmail.com. Please let me know when the next romp is. I would love to have my Meelow join everyone.
Hi Lucy! Thanks for the nice response. Otto gets more lovable every day. Always wants to be near us. Does Ozzie follow you around? Our boy is medium sized, 3 years old, and weighs about 45 lbs. He doesn't look very slender--more solid like a lab. I admit, he's a real chowhound! Once, last year, we were having happy hour outside our RV and I went inside to replenish a plate of hors d'oeurves. ALL of the food I had sitting on the table was gone and only an empty pan remained. Otto had polished off a tray of puff pastry with brie and fig filling! Whoa! I was really shocked when, a week later, he ate an entire stick of butter (no after affects :). I had it sitting on the table in the RV, to soften before baking. Since then we haven't had any more counter/table surfing episodes. I can put a hamburger in front of our other little pooch, Lucy, and she wouldn't dare touch it, so I was caught off guard with Otto. Gotta luv em.
Thanks Lucy! Channie just got a bath this morning. She's really just wonderful and loved by everyone. I'm so grateful that we could adopt her. Glad you're doing well. Take care
