Ruby just had a small white bump on her lower eyelid removed during her first teeth cleaning-- she'll turn 4 next week. It just looked like a bit of sleep (no hair growing out) but her groomer said the vet needed to burn it off. She said they are mo…
Hi Donna, and Welcome! Ruby is going on 4 yrs, which makes her one of Whispering Pine's first alumni! I'm SO envious that you'll soon be holding a puppy in your arms. My sister Dori (who has Ruby's brother, Teddy, also in this group) and I are addic…
Working from home, I'm with Ruby--a mini Goldendoodle--all day. I'm child-free and never had pets before. Finding Ruby was divine inspiration. At a sporting event with my boyfriend, I watched a couple in the crowd with their dog. A sudden urge popped into my head. I told my boyfriend "I think I either want a dog or a baby." Having raised three kids, he said "Pick the DOG! You don't have to send one to college." From that moment, finding the right puppy was an obsession.

Ruby is a 4 year-old Mini Goldendoodle. She weighs 32 pounds. Her coat is wavy red that's lightened to strawberry-cream as she's grown. Full of spunk and pride, her plumed tail waves happily when she walks. Sometimes her endless affection is too much-- she never tires of being cuddled. She sticks to me like glue everywhere, even waits on the bathmat until I finish my shower. She always respected our house and never chewed anything except my boyfriend's socks when she was a puppy. Her biggest infractions are jumping up and pulling at the leash. We're always working on that-- though she's finally "getting it" at age 4. She loves children, always pausing outside their houses in our neighborhood to say hello. And she's very protective of her loved ones.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I looked for a companion that would be allergy-friendly, small enough for my townhouse but not too small to trip over. Also easy to train, intelligent and affectionate (I really wanted a "cuddler"). After much research, I narrowed down to Doodles. I thought of a rescue, but couldn't locate any mini GD's in local shelters. After careful research, I chose Ruby from the Koima family in Iowa (www.whisperingkennel.com). Their five kids help with care and socializing the pups, and previous clients were thrilled with their Doodles. I chose Ruby from a photo and trusted my instincts, flying her out without meeting her. I just had confidence in my heart that she was The One.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?

Thanks Lisa for your quick respones Have been in contact almost daily the past week with Glenn. I think that we have almost finalized our decision to get one of the females from the current litter. Thanks again. The group is great and so are the pics of your dog. Will be anxious to share some pics of ours -- hopefull in the very near future.
Hi Lisa,
I noticed a picture of your Ruby on one of your posts and I was struck by how beautiful she is. I stopped by your page to see more photos. I also have a mini and I laughed when I read that you only have issues with Jumping up and pulling on the leash . We have the same problem!!
I tried to get ahold of the person who wants to start the Doodle tales and was having trouble. Please re-send me the e-mail address and I will contact her.
Thanks sooo much!!!
Hi Lisa! Still in LA - I'm showing Mom your page. I just posted a blog - Teddy was aggressive for the first time last night to Lori's King Charles Spaniel - I very distressed by it! So I posted a blog to see if folks know why or how to prevent in the future...
Good to hear from you Lisa. Reese's parents are Sandy and Moon. There were a ton of great puppies there when we went to pick her up last week and all of them had cute little tags around thier necks with the names of the people they were going to. you would love it there...there were lots and lots of goldendoodle puppies. I will have to connect with the other people that have Glenn's puppies- i found a few from your friends list. Reese is a great puppy so far and we just love her to death- still gets up in the middle of the night but you can't blame the small bladder. We are training her using a clicker and she is catching on really fast- already sitting, coming, laying down and giving a high five! my husband and i kind of hated the idea but since it is working so well - we love it. I will post more pictures later!
lisa- saw your reference from Glenn's website. we just got our Reese a week ago from Glenn. absolutely loved his family and the kennel. just signed up for doodle kisses and not sure if there is a whispering keennel group but I would love to join to talk with other whispering kennel families and see other dog's pics. working on figuring out how all this works! any help would be great! thanks!
Harley's parents are Darma and Moon, but interestingly enough he looks just like Teddy. I have a hunch that he will be closer to 35-40 lbs. when fully grown. Check out Sheryl Fenton's page on DK for pictures of Dewey, Harley's brother. I hope Harley and Dewey can meet up one of these days to see if they remember each other.
