"Our doodle Brody was 7 months old when he got his first "real" groom. We had him shaved down for the warmer weather. He didn't have quite the same changes as your puppy but he did change A LOT. He never used to like to cuddle with us…"
I am posting this on the puppy madness group as our island mini doodle just turned 1 year old. She had gotten pretty matted , especially after she was boarded. Her hair was shaved , so we could strt over. This girl weighs five pounds. Since the grooming she will not walk on a leash, as she used to. She refuses to walk. So we carry her. She also suddenly could jump up onto a chair or sofa where she was unable to do that before. She is also more likely to stay right next to me on the sofa. The…See More
"If she is matted, you also need to make sure that you are getting all the way to the skin when you brush her. I use a high quality slicker with some flexibility and a steel comb.

"The best way I have found to use the rake with mats is take the rake and place it near the skin under the mat use a sawing motion to loosen the mat. Then hold the base of the hair and try to pull the rake through the mat. Holding the hair makes sure…"
I have an 11 month old Island Mini Doodle. The first litter of her kind, so there is not too much info out there on their coats. Her hair is long, like a Havanese. I really appreciate this group and am very willing to follow any suggestions you all might have.See More

I am no expert but have brought two puppies home in the past 2 years or so. The first one I held in my lap while my husband drove the hour drive home. He cried a lot and I finally put him in the back seat of our mini van with a toy and he…"

The Cavachon chewed and ate everything you can imagine. We just did not…"

This is a group for all those with Puppies under 2 years old. I thought it would be a good time to get to know one another, share fun moments together, as well as the tough training moments. We puppy parents must unite! If your pups under 2, JOIN!See More
