Karen & Jackdoodle said… I use mashed sweet potatoes, but I put them down his throat anyway, I just use the sweet potatoes to keep the capsule from sticking at the back of the throat, and so there is a pleasant flavor in the mouth. You really just want the dog to swallow a pill, and not chew it up.

I have never used Proviable myself, it's one of the recommended probiotics from my IBD list. I wasn't aware that there were two forms of it. I think you only need the capsules, which is the Proviable DC. Regular dairy products like cheese and milk can be problematic for some dogs (and people as well) but that's not usually true of yogurt, because of the cultures.

- Shelby is doing great. Are you staying here in town during spring break? Maybe we can get all the dogs together during the break. How do you think Heidi would do off leash out at Lick Creek.... Have you ever been out there? Shelby loves it and so does Ollie. Rachel was nervous at first but he did great and stuck by Shelby's side! Let me know if you are around and if so... Let's try to get together!!!

Laura.... I'm not sure when the other dog park is opening - I contacted the City of Bryan in November and they said Spring - so I am guessing March or April. I can write again and see if they have an estimated opening date - because I am curious as well. How's Heidi doing? If you'd be interested - I often have Ollie (and Rachel) over for play dates in my yard... they have a great time romping around. Shelby gets a summer cut tomorrow so we can start our spring/summer activities.... swimming, hiking, etc. and she is much more wash and wear that way!
