Okay I know this is a Goldendoodle/Laberadoodle site. But we finally made a decision to go with a breeder for a Cockapoo. But most of, if not all the breeders in this area so far dock the tails of…Continue

Just got done watching "Animal Cops" on Animal Planet.  I was looking to get a Goldendoodle from a breeder, but have decided to go through a rescue group. Don't know if I will get a Doodle though. I…Continue

Does anyone have one for their front or back yard? We have a court yard that I'm thinking of making into a playground for the dog we will get. It's about 20ft by 27ft. Bigger with the tile part, plus…Continue

Andrea Johnston replied to Kimberly Risley's discussion Feeding Raw? in the group Raw Food Eating Doodles
"Jill hi again sorry for the delay. Normally I would say avoid all large beef bones as they are really dense and pose a tooth issue. A good substitute for that would be a pork hock which mine have no problem with. It does have some meat on it and…"

In Wait Mode

I email our breeder to see how the "mating" went with Sammy (Dad) and Tia (Mom). This is what our breeder said "Well hoping she took as she was not a willing candidate." Our breeder said she should know for sure in about 4-5 weeks, then would email everyone.. As this litter is completely sold. Although our breeder said "Tia" is a reliable mom as she normally breeds on time. Well keeping my figures crossed that the mating took.. She does have two other mom's that will be breeding in 2013 along…See More

"No beef bones, period.  All are too dense for dogs' teeth.  When I feed beef shank, I remove the meat and dig out the marrow for my dog, then either store the bone for my own use (stock) or toss it.  If your dog is getting bone…"

"Jill, you will hear bone being crunched up and some small pieces will come off but they don't splinter. Bones only splinter when they are cooked and that's when they are dangerous. Turkey drums are very good to start with but I have known…"

"Chicken necks are mostly bone, not enough meat at all. Also they can be a real choking hazard if you have a gulper. I don't feed them for that reason. I am not sure how long you've been feeding raw but some dogs new to raw have some…"

Andrea Johnston replied to Kimberly Risley's discussion Feeding Raw? in the group Raw Food Eating Doodles
"Yes sorry my fault, cannon butt is really loose stools. If you have this moderate the diet. Too loose means too much meat and not enough bone. Hard, white stools mean too much bone, so feed a meatier meal.  As an example, I feed chicken as the…"

Did you get my post? These comments seem pretty right on. I know you'll find the perfect addition with a bit of attention, research and planning. By the way: Tessa ( 10 months, now 41 pounds ( medium F1b)) chose our 5 pound kitten, Nellee, just before Christmas. They sleep together, play together... are bonded sisters. Your cat will help to raise your pup. My last one lived to 23 and loved each dog. These two now, are amazing. Tess is non aggressive, mellow, social and brilliant in mind, heart & spirit. Our family, happily thrives. Keep us posted... Tessa, Diane & Nellee

I replied in the "general comments" in "Goldendoodles" to your specific post. Please look for it. Tessa is an F1b. And "the look" of each of these dogs is unique: some more poodle, some more golden. Look at the past dogs from your breeder... and the parents. Do your homework. This is a very serious adoption. Again, best of luck and enjoy... Tessa & Diane
