- Former personal trainer/lifestyle & weight management consultant, and natural bodybuilder. Originally an English Lit major, I returned to college at 40 to study physiology. Proud mom to 2 adult children and 1 grandson. Retired. Enjoy reading, gardening, computer games, and the great outdoors. Have lived with poodles and poodle-mix dogs for 55 years. Have been actively involved in dog rescue since 1998.

- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- F1 standard male, "Jackdoodle" born 11-28-2004. 80 lbs, apricot, adopted from a shelter in January 2006 at 14 months old.
From the day I brought him home, he has never had an accident, never chewed or damaged anything, never taken food from the counter, never gone in the garbage, never bothered the cat. He is absolutely phenomenal with children...a stroller coming down the street gets his tail going in circles. He sheds like crazy, and has lots of medical & psychological issues, but he is an exceptionally good boy.

- I really did not choose, or particularly want, a doodle. But when I saw him at the shelter, I just couldn't leave him in that cage! He looked so sad.
Really cute, really sweet, he needed me and I needed him.

- Walk in the woods, visit friends, play fetch, kiss his big nose!

Today is the birthday of good ole' Jackdoodle.
He's such a handsome guy cause he's mixed with a poodle.
With his big brown eyes, and his cold wet nose,
his messy kind of hair, it all really goes.
He has a wiggley butt when he's a wagging that tail,
puts a smile on Karen's face every time without fail.
So on this special day, a day that's all your own,
hope your tail is a spinning and mom treats you with a bone.

I did read the list and I appreciate your suggestions... the proplan was suggested by my vet, otherwise I would have never heard of it.

- Karen, I am currently feeding Harley Merrick but considering TOTW. I see Orijen is the favorite but pricy. TOTW is comparable to Merrick. Can I feed a variety of the different kinds of TOTW once he is used to the food?

Just curious - has there been any interest in Lexi the mini dood who has the eye problems? Her story makes me so sad. Well they all do.
I hope JD is still doing well.
Funny for the day: Taquito growled at Charlotte when she tried to pet him (I was right there)...I said "Taquito NO she's trying to be nice"....he always runs off when he does that, then makes a beeline right back to my lap (he wants to sit on my lap while we are playing with Charlotte). This time I gave him a firmer no and he ran into his crate! Meanwhile, Peri can gently take food out of Charlotte's hands and then lick her all over. I mean, they could not be more polar opposites! They are like the Odd Couple...DH and I call them that and Ren & Stimpy, among other things. I swear I can't let him out of my sight! But at least he runs off after the mean snap/growl instead of lunging at her. Ugh....we jokingly tell T. "if you were in another house, you'd probably be gone by now". And of course he's going nowhere!

Been meaning to tell you....Charlotte is obsessed with Tacky. Obsessed. Laughs at him from accross the room, always reaches out to him - I think it's because he is little and black. Of course he could care less for her right now. Peri on the other hand follows us everywhere, licks Charlotte all over, lays next to her - and although Charlotte pets her and likes her, it's nothing like the infatuation with Taquito. Of course she likes the difficult one :) Can you just picture it???
