Congrats on your new puppy! We faced the same issue last summer when we brought our 7-week old Goldendoodle puppy home to our 2 adult cats. The best advice we got about this is to be patient and to not force the meeting, or for them to be buddies. I…
hi lisa, i am sorry to hear that your petunia isn't feeling well. fozzie is from the paw pad and is 9-months old. he has had soft stool off and on, wouldn't necessarily call it diarrhea, since we brought him home. he tested positive for whipworm a f…
Hi, My doodle, Fozzie, is an English Standard F1 doodle, and he is only 46 pounds. Take a look at my pictures if you'd like. Fozzie is very small in comparison to other dogs from the same breeder. We are happy, though; we wanted a doodle on the smal…
I live in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood with my husband and our three pets (Fozzie has two cats for "brothers").
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
My dog, Fozzie, is an English Goldendoodle. He was born in May, 2008 at the Paw Pad in central Illinois. Fozzie is a big, floppy muppet! He is very a affectionate little guy and relatively laid back (for a puppy). Fozzie likes: chasing leaves; fetching sticks; lying by his feline "brothers"; shredding paper; eating peanut butter; snuggling with us; taking naps; and, running in the park. He (luckily) loves his crate, and his favorite place to nap outside his crate is, oddly enough, on top of a marble floor lamp base. He recently completed a two-week obedience training class at Morgan's Dogs, which really helped to shape him up. He has (relatively) very good puppy manners!
Thanks for the information Julie. It was very likely Gibson you saw as I live around Clark and Wellington. There is also a Pawpad puppy just a month or two older than Gibson in the neighborhood as well. She is a bit more apricot in color. Fozzie and Gibson sure are similar looking. Fozzie looks like he has an amazing coat. Gibson is having some matting issues and I do prefer to leave him a bit longer, but maybe I'll try Stay and ask for the Fozzie cut! Thanks.
Hi Julie, notice that you're in Chicagoa and curious if you have a groomer you'd recommend? Gibson is 9 1/2 months old now and really needs to be clipped but I am fearful of where to take him. Thanks,
Yeah, I wish..but Brooks is a licker down there...and the doc said she had to put it on him because he was already licking. I wish I could trust him, but I don't want to take it off and then have to put it right back on. I was thinking about putting a onesie on him...heard that works...but i just feel like he'll eat through it or something! The lampshade will probably have to stay! BOO!
Yes, we are Bears fans, as painful as it can be. Fozzie is a great name, too. Doodles remind me so much of muppets that Henson was on my short list of names.
Halas does mat. He didn't start until he was about 10 months old. I'm hoping he's just blowing his puppy coat, but it's taking forever. Right now, I'm back to brushing him about once per week, but there have been stretches where I have to brush him every day. I want to leave his coat long, but we'll see how it goes when summer starts. Last year, his coat was fully grown out yet, so it wasn't too bad if I kept up with the brushing. But I'm hoping to be able to take him swimming a lot this summer, and I may have to get him cut a little bit if that happens. We'll see - I love the long, shaggy coat.
hi julie =) (great name btw...) thank you so much for sharing your storyt. i talked to penny as well and it has just been so reassuring to hear that others have gone through the same first vet visit and then to go back a few weeks/months later and to find out it has gone away. i am praying nd believing it will be the same situation for taylor. fozzie is absolutely gorgeous and i'm sure you hear it all the time. it makes me want to get an english standard in the future! what is fozzie'sfavorite thing to do?
Thanks for the advice about the crate. You were right, our crate we had him in during the day was too big and we have fixed the problem. Yesterday while we were at work, he did not have an accident! I am going to hope the same for Monday when we go to work. Thanks agian.
Fozzie's pictures are so cute. Taffy is an English Goldendoodle too. She was born the end of August. With today being so nice out, Taffy is panting up a storm with all her fur. Is fozzie doing the same? Taffy also lays on her back like that when she has a toy in her mouth. Fozzie's paws look like bear paws. very cute!
