I am thinking of naming my dog (either male or female), not sure which gender I'll get yet, an unusual name. Not so unusual, but more uncommon. I love books, so I was trying to think of character…Continue

Dori & Rua said… Jess - Thanks for the friend request. I am sure you are most excited about getting your F1B. I went with a girl because I didn't like leg-lifting or running into junk when I rub a dog's tummy - LOL! Besides, if I had a male dog he would look ridiculous dressed in the outfits I make Rua.
Can't wait to see pictures.
Raghu said… Hi Jess,
Here is a log of Remy's growth.
2 months - 5lbs
4 months - 15lbs
6 months - 27 lbs
9 months(present) - 29 lbs
The vet doesn't expect him to get any bigger. I am not sure how big his litter mates got but he was one of the smaller (not smallest) one in the litter.
We thought anything more than 20 lbs would be hard to manage but I think 30lbs is the perfect size. He is such a sweet 'lil goofball. Good luck with your puppy and keep us posted on your furry friend.
Hi Jess,
Just saw your comment--sorry for taking so long to respond. We also live in an apartment in the city and really love Douglas's size. He's only 27 pounds so he doesn't take up much room in the apartment and is also light enough that we can pick him up if necessary.
Douglas's dad, a miniature red poodle, is 18lbs. His mom is an average sized golden--we don't remember her weight and she is no longer having puppies.
Good luck with the puppy! I'm sure you'll get a great one. Doodles are the best. :)
Hi Jess,
How exciting, to become involved with brain research. There is so much potential with that! There is so much we do not know about the brain and it is ever changing!
Yes, I am a visual person as well. I wanted to see lots of photos of the Doodles who were born from the same parents as Melody and Morgan. I didn't want one that sheds, but I didn't want them to look too much like a curly and coarse poodle, either. It is interesting how they will turn out differently than each other, even in the same litters. I hope you get pics soon!
Congratulations! A job offer at University of Pennsylvania? Very nice! I'd love to learn more about that. I am excited for you, that is for sure...lots of NEW experiences for you and getting a Doodle in the mix will be sooo rewarding. It all sounds exciting!
Rachel and Ollie said… Hey Jess! Thanks for the add! Ollie's coat has gotten a little curlier now that he is older, but it is really loose curls. I'll post the pics in the discussion you posted! How exciting! A new puppy! I don't think I have a pic of his parents...they were taken off the breeders site and I didn't grab them off!
Rachel Felcher said… Hi Jess. Very exciting news. Doodles are amazing. Rosie is a shaggy/ curlier coat. Her coat is a bit different on her hind end than by her chest, head and belly. She is unbelievably soft too! I will post some baby pics. The breeder identified her as a curlier coat when she was about 6 weeks old. I got her at 8 weeks. Her mom is an F1B american goldendoodle and her dad is a dark red mini-poodle. Mom is a very light apricot. The coat apparently changes, but for now she looks perfectly like a muppet! Just what I had wanted :) Best of luck
Hi Jess! Congratulations on getting your degree, and now moving on to getting a Doodle! What a great time you have awaiting you!
I have 2 mini Goldendoodles, that are F1B. Their Father is very small and their Mother a small Goldendoodle. They weigh 12 and 16 pounds, respectively. It is hard to determine for sure the coats, but most of the litters have had soft curls. The breeder told us not to depend on it being a specific type, as the baby coat is not an indication, really. Melody's coat is a little coarse, but not much. Morgan is wavier, even curly, but his coat is very soft.
My niece will be going to Pennsylvania for college this fall. We are all on the west coast, so that will be a distance for her for sure. She is really looking forward to it. She is going to University of Pittsburgh.
Jill Robinson said… Hi Jess! Lucy is an F1B mini - so she'll eventually be about 35-40 pounds...she is the best! She's about 4 1/2 months old now and so smart. She's got a great personality - from reading this forum, it seems like most goldendoodles are really great dogs...
