I have a ALD who is a breeding female, about 2 1/2 years old, Dolly. She is in her first week of her 3rd heat cycle. We did nothing the first cycle but the second time, the breeder drove 3 hours each way to pick up a male for Dolly's first hot date. Well, my little Dolly must be related to "Vern" cuz she's afraid of a lot of things and is pretty nervous about other dogs. April Fool's Day is my Dolly's Birthday. This will be a big year for her, she will have her first littler of puppies this summer. I saw the "pending" removed, too. That poor dog can not catch a break. Did you see his new haircut the original owners gave him? I am so mad right now. I wish I thought I could handle a third dog, but I just don't think I could. I am praying he finds a home soon. Thanks, Jeanne!

This is my 1st opportunity to get on line on my laptop (set up in our study). I've been reading all my msgs. on my ipad but it's functionality is limited and I HATE to type on it! Things are going wonderfully, but I have been very very tired lately with all the WORK of potty training. We've had quite a few accidents (mostly our own fault for not getting the little guy out soon enough), but every day we're being more diligent. I'd forgotten how much a chore it is having a puppy. Lucy is THRILLED to have a live-in play buddy, although Oscar is only a quarter her size. Still, she's teaching him how she likes to play, and he's learning quickly. She shares toys and treats and she even let Oscar suckle her!! That is, until he clamped down with those baby teeth of his, then she jumped waaay back! LOL ... Lots and lots to tell. I'll be writing lots of blogs and of course posting on my various groups here, but in the meantime check out the new pics of Oscar on my page! Thanks!

Thank you, Jeanne! And Happy Birthday to Tura! Do you have anything planned for the big day? Good, point, you bring up the possibility of Oscar being overwhelmed... I'll have to manage Lucy a little to ensure he gets some quiet time. Tim will be home so he can always take her to hang out with him for a while and give Oscar a rest. Lucy is very bonded to Tim. It will be interesting to see the dynamics once Oscar arrives. It would be nice if he were more bonded to me, but I'm not holding my breath. Animals just gravitate to Tim (and he's not the big animal lover like I am... although that's changed quite a bit since having Lucy). Since Lucy's been with us for 3 yrs I doubt the 2 doodles will be more bonded to each other than either one of us, but you never know!

Hi Jeanne,
Thanks for the congrats, I appreciate it! Yeah, I'm not thrilled about another winter puppy, but the good news is Lucy will have a play buddy to keep her busy and active on those wet winter days we can't get out for a walk. I do wonder too, just how much Lucy will help 'train' Oscar. This should be very interesting... and I'll be taking a LOAD of video to capture it all. Just curious, how is Dolly and Tura's weight now? Lucy's put on probably 5-8 lbs this past year (since turning 2, now almost 3)... she was as high as 58lbs at one point this past Summer, then I put her on a diet, and now she's down to about 55.
