Our last visit to see Dr. Greek is when she said to slowly wean him off of the shots. She said we should have seen a bigger improvement with the itching by now if the shots were going to work."

The immunotherapy shots can take up to 18 months to have an effect. I'm not sure when you started them, but I would stay with them for a while longer, because for us, it has really been worth it. Jack has been symptom free 10 months…"

How is your dog doing with the Atopic Dermatitis? Joey is still on the antihistimine/prednisone. We are eliminating the shots as they didn't seem to do anything.

We have an Atopic Dermatitis Support Group…"

Joey has severe allergies. We took him to Dr. Jean Greek in Santa Barbara. She was recommended by our vet in town. Joey was given allergy testing and showed severe allergies to grasses and trees. I have to give him injections of antigen twice a week; plus he also takes a pill that is a combination antihistimine and steroid. We have his liver enzymes checked periodically to make sure he is handling it. He still scratches a little but not nearly like before. It was horrible when it started.…See More

- I am married and am a mother of two grown children. I have six grandchildren. I am a retired elementary school teacher. I have always had a dog or dogs, and I love them.

- We have a medium sized Goldendoodle. HIs name is Joey. He is the sweetest little guy. He loves everyone. He is great with kids and other dogs. He truly has brought so much joy into our lives.
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- We have had Golden Retrievers, which we loved. We have had Shepherds, Poodles, and Labradors. We enjoyed them all. However, when we heard of this breed, it intrigued us. We heard they were well tempered and I loved the idea that Joey wouldn't shed.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- We love to hike with him. Go for long walks, and play catch. He does everything with us, and he is a great traveler in the car.

- Nope!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- Doggie Spa
- Favorite Doodle Products?
- Anything that will hold up while being chewed. There is a product that makes different types of dog toys. Joey loves these because he can chew and chew on them. We love them because he can not chew them up.
