Jacks Four Year Update.

Posted on June 4, 2013 at 11:21am 12 Comments

I love the blogs on here that I have of different phases in Jack's life because it is like his "baby book"

Jack is doing very well at four years old.. This year instead of titers like we did for three years before, we did the three year vaccine... Mostly for money reason but also, I am okay with a vaccine booster three years later or I am telling myself that because I didn't really have a choice. :)

Jack also had to get his Rabies Vaccine.. We actually leave in…

Update on Me

Posted on April 20, 2013 at 4:30pm 34 Comments

I have been leaving bits and pieces of updates through blogs and posts on other people's stuff so since a few of you asked me I figured I would type a quick update.

First the good news.. Jack is doing amazing.. He is finally at a healthy weight after being underweight for so long. He is on just cortisol replacement for now and is doing well except for heat intolerance.  He seems to have adapted very well to my lifestyle of living with me or being with my mom and molly. There…

Blessings in Disguise

Posted on August 31, 2012 at 9:15pm 9 Comments

Lately everywhere I turn there has been sadness, sickness, diseases, death, horribly desperate situations. I can't find a happy place anymore. On here we have had heart ache after heart ache. On my Cystic Fibrosis forums we are having death after death of even small children. On Facebook I have friends who have lost their children to heart disease, brain cancer, and lung disease. All the rescue groups I belong to are posting picture after picture of beautiful dogs that have been abused, who…

Every Day Life What a Pleasure

Posted on July 20, 2012 at 7:55pm 17 Comments

I spend a great deal of time on the internet, on Facebook and on the page I am the moderator on. I usually start out doing a treatment with my stuff and hours later I am still there.

I am fascinated by people's Facebook statuses. Some people post simple about the every day stressors of life... How their kids are driving them crazy, how they can't wait for school to start again, how their job sucks, how their spouse pissed them off......

Somehow for me.. it…

Jen, Oodle of Doodles runs a Rehome Service where the dog stays with the owner and we work with them to find the perfect home. Dogs are listed on our website, Petfinder and Facebook, Pintrest and Twitter. They are reference checked and only qualified adopters are contacted. We also rehome on contract. If your friend with the 2 IL doodles is interested have her go to our Rehomer Info page and fill out the application. We have rehomed several doodle bonded pairs in the past two years and we don't ask them to surrender. The service is free to rehomers and we just ask a donation after adoption. Thanks.

Hi Jennifer - wanted you to know that Harley is doing much better! I think the straining is what brought on the blood after the stool. He bounced back fairly quickly probably because with DH away, he was up in the bed with me Thurs-Sat night! I love these dogs so much, because they seem (to me) to be so much more than just "pets". BTW - Jack is adorable! Thanks so much for reading! Take care and have a doodle*licious day!

Jennifer, I just wanted to say enjoy your day with Jack celebrating his birthday. Congratulations on your job offer too. It sounds like a great deal getting benefits and working from home doing what you have been trained to do !

All the best to you.

Profile Information

About Me:
I am an RN by training which was a huge passion of mine, Due to a gentic lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis I am now officially "retired" I like that better then disabled.. Sounds good to be "retired before 40 right? Jack is a toy golden doodle that came into my life a little over FOUR years ago. I never owned a dog before Jack and never had a desire to, Jack was bought for me as a present because I had to stop working full time.. One look at his picture and I feel madly in love and knew I better learn all I can about treating this little boy that made me an official dog mom the best way possible. My passion in life is to live life to the fullest focusing only on what I do have and not on what I don't have. Thanking God for everything I can gives me a better attitude then asking why I don't have certain things. In recent times I have become more passionate about all dogs and their safety.... So I started life with a passion for nursing and children and now have a passion for dogs and loving people as best as I can.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Jack is now four years old I I swear I feel like I just got him. He weighs in at a whopping 19 pounds and needs to lose weight . He is very well socialized, spoiled rotten with good behavior most of the time. I have long since gave up on having Jack be perfect in anything.. Leash walking, grooming or anything. I like to let him lead me in what he likes to do and as long as he is not being a bother.. we explore the world together ... We for sure wouldn't win an award in best of anything but He is happy, well behaved and we co exists well together...
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Jack was purchased for me by a doctor that had two golendoodles.... I would never have known the difference.. but I am sure glad I have him.. I adore him. I like the look of him....He is well bred and cute. I hate to admit this but I am pretty sure I would have fallen in love with any dog that was given to me....because I love how unconditional dogs are in their love.. I do love doodles.....I love the teddy bear look, the cuteness of them.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
My favorite thing in the world is to play with him and his toys. He has so many toys, but he plays with them all. I love to watch him dig through his toy box and find whatever toy it is he is looking for. We go for a few mile walks together daily, We shop any store where he is allowed to go, and we are well known in all the pets stores around here. I have to say, anything that I can do with him makes me happy. I think for me just having someone to love and nurture gives me so much joy, and I think Jack Doodle makes out pretty well too.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
A small little shop that does him first and gets him done fast so he isn't there all day, she isn't my favorite groomer but she gets him done fast and I don't want him there all day.
Favorite Doodle Products?
We just started feeding raw.... Bravo.. so far so good... Cowboy magic for matts, anything made in the USA, free of by-products, garbage and that is healthy and safe for him to play with and or eat.
