"Definitely super scary and I wish I had some sort of advice or ideas. Hopefully the vets can figure it out and Sophie will be home soon with you. :( Sending happy get well soon prayers, thoughts and best wishes. Good luck.…"
"I just found my notes for Maizey:
9 weeks: 13 lbs
14.5 weeks: 25 lbs
4.5 months: 35 lbs
She's now almost a year and a half and has weighed around 55lbs for quite some time. She was a giant puppy with huge puppy feet and grew…"
"Such a cutie!! Jarvis is ridiculously adorable! Don't worry it gets better, eventually. I got maizey a heartbeat puppy pillow which kind of helped, but yeah it was really rough at first. I was in a state of exhaustion…"
"I'm so sorry to hear this :-( Have you looked over your breeder contract for any health guarantee that might cover genetic defects within 2 yrs? There may be some compensation written into the contract for this very sort of thing."
Bad news - the orthopedic surgeon finally came back with his opinion - hip dysplasia. Maizey is, btw, doing great - happy, pain-free, walking, playing, trying to jump and run, etc. The vet said its mild for now but it…"
"She will definitely remember you! I boarded Maizey over Thanksgiving when she was about 11 months old - and frankly, it was probably harder on me than her. I totally cried after dropping her off because I felt so terrible. She…"
"Thanks everyone! Just came back from meeting with the vet. They did xrays of both the hips and knees. The vet described her hips as 'mildly dysplastic' but she says it doesn't seem like it rises to the level of being…"

"Well they're doing x-rays to rule out structural issues like hip dysplasia. But the vet seemed concerned that's what it might be. The other option is a muscle strain. I am really, really worried now. :( "
"Have you checked her temperature or looked for any scratches or wounds?
Give her some aspirin if you think she may just be sore.
Regardless, I would take her to the vet, just in case.
Good luck and keep us posted.."
"I completely understand the dad thing, I get the same reaction when I see something off with one of my boys. I've had to remind myself I know my boys and if something is off there's a reason and I want to know and fix it asap. Trust your…"
Hi everyone! Thanks for so many welcomes! For those who asked the old English d is for the Detroit tigers. My new little doodle puppy is coming home in two weeks (sooooo excited!) so I don't have any pictures yet and the tigers logo was what I had on my computer. I will update it soon! Anyways I have been reading everything I can on the site and thought I would join because I'm sure I will be needing advice. Thanks again!
Welcome! This is a great place to share about doodles. There are many groups that you can join. For example, there are groups for grooming, nutrition, health/medical, types of doodles, puppy groups etc. Look at the top of your page and click on Groups - check them out. Enjoy!
