Profile Information

About Me:
I live in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with my husband. We have a llama trekking business and do picnic hikes in the state park. You can read more about us at www.twincreeksllamas.com. We have always had bearded collies, but when we lost our 15 year old, Bonny, at Christmas, we decided to try the goldendoodle. I love the cuddly look. So at present time, we have Baylie, the goldendoodle puppy, Mayzie, a 7 year old beardie, 8 llamas, 2 peacocks, and 4 chickens. Oh and there is the barn cat, Grady.

I also have a blog that is a collection of stories of happenings here on the farm. Most are humorous, some are poignant. You can visit Twin Creeks Musings at http://tcllamas.wordpress.com.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Golden doodle, born 11/15/12, female, named Bayley
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
From the first time that I saw a doodle on TV several years ago, I knew I had to have one. They are the epitomy of cuteness. We've always had bearded collies for the last 20 years or so and after we lost our beardie at Christmas I decided it was time to make the switch. What a great decision. Bayley is so smart, and good natured. I am totaly in love.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Our favorite thing is to go on our early morning walks through the woods on our property. The best times are when there is still an early mist and the air is crisp and still. Mayzie, the bearded collie, and Bayley love to chase, romp, and tumble. Now that the weather is getting warmer, they are also enjoying wading in the creek. I'm not so much enjoying the muddy paws.
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Me, so far
Favorite Doodle Products?
Stazko shampoo and conditioner, Les Poochs green brush, comb with rotating teeth, Retriever Rolls Rawhide chews. Still experimenting with dog food to find a healthy diet that she enjoys. Food and treats must be made in USA.

New to group. Looking to meet other doodles

I've just joined this group. Bayley and I live near Front Royal, so we're a couple of hours from Richmond, but we'd make the drive to join a doodle romp. I'm dying to see Bayley play with a group of dogs that share her energy level. Any thing in the works for spring?

Recipe for a Pupsicle

Posted on March 7, 2013 at 10:51am 16 Comments

To begin, start with one goldendoodle and add 20 inches of fresh, clean, new fallen snow.

Mix well for two minutes.

(Please accept my apologies for the orientation of this video. The Road Warrior left town with the camera, so I had to resort to my iphone for video. I held the phone wrong. Click on the little square at the bottom right of the video to view full screen, and hit escape to return.)…

Don't Get Buried Under Your Paperwork.....A Goldendoodle's First Christmas

Having an overly energetic puppy can bring a lot of extra stress around the holidays when you are introducing a lot of new and enticing objects to the dog’s already over stimulating environment. I can imagine the puppy saying, “Wow, you’re bringing me a tree! I can climb on it, chew and tug on the…

The Spirit of Christmas

A parody of the poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas” by Clement C. Moore

The Spirit of Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all we could see

Was the wreck of the presents unwrapped ‘neath the tree.

The stockings which hung from the chimney with care

Were missing, the mantel now empty and bare.

The tree, how it twinkled, was down on its side.

The star, not so merry, was cracked open wide.

The…
