I am technologically challenged to say the least. I tried to post my first blog earlier in honor of Chloe's birthday and it says "waiting for approval" It's been over an hour. Is this normal? Should…Continue

Missy said… Oh you have to be sooo proud!!! Way to go Chloe!!
We are very excited...3 more weeks to go. Beeko (our Grey) still is not liking all the dog stuff. The more dog stuff we add, the more Beeko is determined to find her a spot on the floor. She was trying to move the dog dishes towards the door the other day. I put some seeds in there to see if she would eat them, but NO..she just kept trying to scoot them!
we have a neighbor that has been bringing her pup up for a visit, and Beeko talks to her, barks, and tonight she was meowing at the dog. We won't let them kiss, just in case Beeko bites-can't do that with the neighbors dog! lol
I will try to capture the meeting on video. Am hopeful things will work fine!!! you are proof! thanks for sharing!!
Lonnie & Libby Lu said… Thanks Dee for the very special Birthday wishes for Libby! She had a great day with lots of surprises, love and treats! I must admit I had some help with the poem from my oldest daughter:)

Lori, Daphne & Lucy said… Dee, I love the picture of Chloe with the antlers on! I'm sorry I didnt respond earlier. I have been traveling this week in the North Carolina mountains to visit family and they have no internet connection. It was torture! I totally understand what you said bout Chloe turning her head or moving when the camera comes out. Daphne does the exact same thing! I just keep snapping pictures till I get some that are not bad. My family hates it because I usually ask for help when I need a good picture of Daphne. They run around holding treats or squeaky toys while I try to get a good shot.
LOVE Chloe's name! We lost our Beloved Golden Retriever to cancer this year and her name was Chloe.
Cheri & Bonny said… Friends now, yay! I'm sure her coat will keep changing for quite awhile. Bonny is now losing all the black on her ears -- it's all fading to gray.
If you are going to keep her hair longer for the winter, just keep brushing it, all the way to the skin. I had a heck of a time with Bonny while her puppy coat was changing -- since she didn't shed, you pretty much have to brush and "pull" it out or it mats very quickly. She has combination hair -- much curlier and thicker on her back which matted easily and looser soft hair on her legs which I can let grow longer. I also taught myself to groom her (with all the advice from the Grooming Group here on DK) because I would get so frustrated with the way the groomers cut her hair. I paid for all the tools after 3 haircuts by doing it myself!
Cheri & Bonny said… That's so cool! No I haven't met anyone else from Abracadoodle. I always wanted to though!
What a small world -- where did you live in San Mateo? We're in the Hayward Park area down the street from Central Park and downtown.
I understand that the color change happens a lot, especially in dogs with red in their coats.
Cheri & Bonny said… Yes, I did get Bonny from Abracadoodle! I saw Chloe's background photo and it looks just the same! Bonny is now 3, so I wonder if she might be Chloe's big sister... Her mom is named Black Gold (the goldendoodle half) and her father is Hooter. I just looked at their website and saw that one of the breeding moms is Gypsy who is Bonny's sister (not sure if its the same litter) because they look exactly alike.
Bonny's coat changes color all the time. She doesn't have all the variation she used to have, but the hair seems to change color in patches all the time. Strange but fun!
Jane, Guinness and Murphy said… I'm so glad to hear that things are already starting to get better. Chloe is adorable!
Nancy, Ned, and Clancy said… The choke collar is supposed to have about 3 inches of play so that when you give a correction with it, there is the noise of the chain sliding as well as the pull. It is a good idea to take Chloe and have someone help you size it if you aren't sure what size to get. It also matters how you put it on so that it relaxes when the dog isn't pulling.
Nancy, Ned, and Clancy said… Yes, it is just another term. We use the 'choke' chain for our bigger doodle, a prong collar for our Springer and either the 'choke' chain or a flat collar for our little doodle. We trained the doodles using the 'choke' chains and the little one really doesn't need it any longer although he minds better when he thinks he is in training mode. Our bigger doodle is a rescue and can slip out of a flat collar before you can blink, so although he is trained, I will never trust him not to get scared by something and slip out of the collar and run.

My sweet Chloe turned two today and started the day with her favorite game, shredding up a plastic bag and then attacking mommy as she was on the floor picking it up. Yes, she still gets into mischief, but I'll take shredding plastic or newspapers any day over chewing on eyeglasses, couches, carpeting and rugs. She has come a long way in two years and taught me a lot along the way. She completed 3 obedience classes and 2 low impact agility classes. She learned some important words and now…
