About Me:
I've worked at a high-end dog boutique/bakery since 2007. In 2011, I began one-on-one puppy training (12 wks-2 yrs) and am currently working toward my APDT certification. In March 2012, I began a volunteer training program for the dogs at Richmond Animal League. We just started our third program cycle at RAL. We have had an excellent adoption rate with the dogs from the training program.I openen my own training business in Bon Air September 4, 2012 and offer multi-dog classes as well as one-on-one training. I offer puppy & dog obedience, Real Life training, as well as CGC and Therapy Dog prep.
Check out our FaceBook page - Siriusly Canine and our website listed below.
In our family, we have Connor, our 4 year old goldendoodle, who is a total and complete sweetheart. Skylar is our 10 yr old rough coat collie and Simon is our three year old cream and apricot standard Australian Labradoodle. We also have two indoor cats - a red-patch tabby Maine Coon and a tortie with white tiny American shorthair.
I'm also the mom of a wonderful adult human daughter who has a beautiful, sweet, yet quirky, longhair cat she adopted in 2010 (my grandcat) named William.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Connor is an F1 goldendoodle (9/14/07). He has a soft fleece/hair shaded gold/red coat.. He received his CGC and TDI Therapy Dog certification in 2009 and we are proud to be a Therapy Team with Caring Canines.Simon is a multi-gen Australian labradoodle born 5/27/09. He has a cream and apricot spiral fleece coat and amber/green eyes. Simon has graduated from Advanced Obedience. Skylar is our 10 yr old collie who looks a lot like Lassie. He has many age-related medical problems, but he still gets in the mood to play and be a funny, silly boy.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder, Rescue
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I fell in love with the temperament and look after meeting many of them at work.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Playing, cuddling, training, grooming. Connor is such a comedian...and he seems to be very pleased with himself when he makes me laugh! Simon is a great cuddler like his big doodle brother. My dogs are such a delight, just about everything we do ends up being great fun.

A little bit but nothing major, Nope!

Deb, How great that you could pull that dog from the shelter and get him on to a better life with the DRC's help. My trainer told me about someone re-homing a Doodle and I tried to get them to go the DRC route, but they wanted money, I think. They said they found him a home all on their own. It makes me sick that people don't care more about the welfare of their dog. I guess all we can do is keep trying.

Thanks, Deb, for the welcome. I wanted to give Jeremy the link to the DRC. I always worry when someone is rehoming a dog. Makes me sad! I will let you know if we ever get down your way!!

Deb,

She is doing very well.  We are working our way through the puppy thing.  Need to get with you about a schedule for your next puppy class.  She is now 10 weeks.
