I am pretty sure if Beemer could talk he would say, "Mom, why did you put these ears on me again"..............with that being said. I LOVE IT! He looks so cute, glad to hear he is doing well.
I just want to give Beemer a big old hug. I am so sorry you are going through all of this. I am glad Comiskey is being such a great sister! Sending Hugs.
Larry....my man...did you have your surgery?....still waiting on those new photos.....got "buns of steel" here and I know how to use them.....Comiskey doesn't stand a chance.....your bro Beem
Very happy news about your job....Mike is still without steady work....it is a real struggle...but...these dogs have been our salvation....just when you think you will never laugh or smile again...they do something that makes you roll on the floor laughing.....Beemer is completely back to normal....he is such a love bug and him and Comiskey play a lot now.....he loves to play fetch...run to the ball....pounces on it...and brings it back.....we do this for about 5 minutes, then Comiskey gets in on the action....the game of fetch takes on a whole new meaning with two doodles.....Beemer is now taller than Comiskey and he enjoys letting her know it.....he has gained back 4 lbs. so he is now 31+ lbs......Please keep us in the loop on Larry's surgery....I pray all goes well......
I am so sad as well, we were looking forward to seeing you....and Beemer wanted to show off his new hips to Larry....watch for photos though....Beemer is doing very well....almost back to his old self....the only thing he will not attempt yet is jumping UP on things....which is very good because he isn't supposed to yet....but he runs now and boy does this boy stretch, both standing and laying down....he will fully extend his hind legs....so I have not had to do any physical therapy. He is in the terrible two's phase of his life...and Comiskey does not like it....(personally, I think he is just making up for lost time!)....but for us, it is a great treat to see them playing again.....Larry must be better, is there a chance that you will not have to do the surgery?....you really need to post some new photos....need our Larry fix!.....Take care...keep in touch.....we will miss you....
Hope you had a wonderful vacation....what exactly will they do to Larry and what is his recovery time?.....Please keep us posted and know that all our prayers are with Larry and you two during this time.....
Well, we did our best to keep Beemer's coat in pretty good shape during these last two months....but of course he ended up looking like a lion...his coat was 4 inches long and beautiful.....no more!....We had to have him shaved to even out everything....you would not recognize him....WE don't recognize him....but he feels so much better....and he can see. Because he looks like a different dog...we forget all he has gone through and have to catch ourselves from letting him do too much. He and Comiskey have started playing again and sometimes I think it gets to rough....so we split them up. It really touches our hearts to see them playing again.....Here is the info on the romp....sure hope you can make it this year......
This year, they are holding it on Saturday, May 22, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, and it will be at the same dog park as our previous romps.
The e-mail was very long...and I exceeded the amount of characters I could post....so just e-mail me if you want the whole e-mail.....MickyZs@aol.com
I feel so sorry for Larry...surgery...not fun...but at least you finally got a diagnosis. The not knowing is the hardest part I believe. We can all deal with reality...i't the fear of the unknown that will make us crazy.....please keep us posted....by the way....the photo is Comiskey....not Beemer!
I am so sorry to hear that Larry's breathing issue has not been resolved....changing vets sounds like it was a good idea....Beemer and Larry are the same weight!...Comiskey topped the scales at 35 lbs. today!!!! Beemer's next surgery is this Wednesday...St. Patrick's Day....loads of luck for him!....If he recoveres 1/2 as well from the second surgery as he did with the first, I will be one happy Momma....Mike still is sleeping on the floor with Beemer and Comiskey....they have a nice comfey mattress....and some very cozey blankets and I just put the X-pen around them at night....so none of them escape!....Mike is still out of work so sleeping on the floor isn't so important to a good nights sleep. Please keep me posted on Larry and that you for your good wishes.....have you heard anything from Julie and Taylor?
Beemer & Comiskey will bark with the dog two doors down and 3 doors up from our yard...I agree...it gets on my nerves.....they are not always good at coming in when told....so you have to find something that Larry cannot resist.....with Beemer we just yell "treat" and in he comes....Comiskey is not so easy...I have to lie to her and say "Daddy's Home"...she can't get in fast enough....if I am not being truthful...she gets a special treat....hope this helps....By the way....Beemer is having trouble with his one hind leg....before Christmas we took him to the vet and she gave him an anti-inflamitory (sp?)...he did better...but she said that if it didn't clear up he might need xrays (hip displasia?) he gave her no indication as to where any pain was....so he is still walking kind of stiff and favoring his leg so it's back to the vet....will keep you updated.....
