- About Me:
- I'm a happy doodle owner who has survived puppyhood! A couple years ago, I left the corporate world, where I had been a marketing executive for a number of years and made a lifestyle change. I became an executive director for a professional orchestra nestled in the river towns along the Delaware River. Besides the interesting people I meet, the added benefit was... I could have a dog again! While trying to decide what kind of dog I wanted, Finnegan found me and I'm very glad he did. I have 2 sons and two grandchildren. My hobbies, in addition to raising Finn, are music, photography, reading, and travel. Travel now pretty much includes a doodle.
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- Finnegan is an apricot cream medium size australian labradoodle with a wavy fleece coat. He's so soft and gentle that people can't help but smile when they touch him and if he really likes you, he'll give you a grin. Whoever originally "bought" FInn didn't want him so he was the last puppy left :( As soon as I got an email with his picture, I knew this was my puppy and I was on my way to meet him before I knew it. Still, I was having second thoughts during the 2 hour drive. But as soon as I walked in, he pushed his head up over the puppy pen, studied me a bit and then he...grinned. "Did you come for meeee?" Today he is 50 lbs. He got his CGC on his first birthday -with a lot of help from our friends :) Now 3, he just passed his evaluation for Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. Bach is his favorite composer. He slept to it on his first car ride (home). And he was a "Smash" puppy -- his favorite song--"Let's be Bad" LOL
2 cats round out the (not so) peaceable kingdom- Song and Mistral -- who Finney considers entirely hopeless!

- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- Because of their intuitive gentle nature, intelligence, AND because of their non shedding coat. But really...they're just so darn cute!
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- Exploring new places, meeting new people, long walks, making up doodle games, training, swimming, therapy ( Finn gets to come to some of the nursing homes where the orchestra does outreach work), and getting in lots of snuggle time :)
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- Nope!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- Jacqui at Canine Daze and sometimes me (which upsets Jacqui :)

- Tuffut toys

I am looking forward to meeting you and Finnegan when my pup gets older. A new dog park in the area is wonderful news. It sounds like Bob has offered to host the first "Bucks County" gathering at his home when the weather gets a little warmer. I have a pretty big back yard with an invisible fence but that will not do much to keep the Doodles from wandering. Hopefully, they will enjoy each other's company so much that they will not want to wander pass the perimeter:) .
I am expecting to get an email any day now announcing that my pup has been born--expected date of arrival 4/22/13. I am hoping that it is a big litter, at least 6--my number on the wait list. I was just starting to research trainers in the area so your recommendation was right on time. I will make a note to contact her for classes. Do you recommend that I contact her as soon as I bring my pup home? I will most likely use Holiday Pet Resort in Doylestown whenever I need to use a boarding facility--only when we are not able to take the little one along. I have heard great things about them but I plan to visit anyway to see things for myself. I will most definitely post pics when I get them. The wait is killer... I am sending you a friend request :)

Hi Cheryl, I noticed that you live in Doylestown, PA. Can you recommend good dog parks and groomers in the area. I joined the PA group but it doesn't seem to be active anymore. I also joined the Bucks County group, a lively 4 members, LOL!! I live in nearby Hilltown Township. I am trying to get as much info as I can before I get my little Doodle in June/July. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

GINI LISANTI said… - Cheryl...I just happened to see a comment about Finn having seizures, and I'm so sorry to find this out. Wondering if the doctors have determined the cause. But, in case they're still working on that, I just wanted to share some info I came across while looking into flea, tick & heart worm prevention. There is a new med on the market called TRIFEXIS which is supposed to be very good, but in reading the warnings, it says NOT TO GIVE if your dog has a HISTORY OF SEIZURES. Thought you might like to know about this, so you don't ever give it to Finn. I hope he's doing well with whatever regimen of care the vet has started for him.

Finnegan turns 3 on Saturday. I guess that makes him a “20-something” in human years. Impossible. It just doesn’t seem that long ago that this fuzzy blond puppy took over my life and heart.
When this picture showed up in my e-mail, I knew this was my guy! Turns out the people that bought him changed…
