Banjo is just over four years old now.   For most of his years  he's been sleeping in our bedroom in "his" chair, on his bed or next to our bed on the floor.   He doesn't leave our room ever except…Continue

I Hope You'll Indulge Me.....

As many of you know, my daughter was married last weekend.   The happy couple decided on a small wedding, including immediate family and closest friends.   We found a lovely 13 bedroom house on the Maine coast to accommodate all guest for the weekend.   Early June in Maine is often cool and foggy.   The weather last weekend was made to order.   Sunny and warm (almost hot!).    I had noble visions of taking amazing photos but in reality, I was so excited and distracted with the good times, I…

Well, that photo was taken on their second date almost 2 years ago....and last Sunday he proposed!!!!!    It was a complete surprise to her.  I knew it was coming as he'd called me the day before to ask for my blessings.   He's a keeper.  : )       They make the cutest couple.....and I couldn't be more pleased for my Dear Daughter.

Just had to share our happy news with my DK "family"!   Here is a more recent photo taken the night they became engaged.…

Today was a very special day for Banjo and I.  Elizabeth and Bailey and Lori and her girls Daphne and Lucy drove up to visit us at the beach.   It was such a thrill to meet real, live Doodle Kisses members AND their awesome dogs.   It was clear right from the beginning that these girls (Bailey, Daphne and Lucy) have been around.  These three Doodle Girls really know how to have a good time.....running, chasing and rolling around on the beach full of joy and unending energy!

It's Saturday Morning....

I'm not sure what it is about Saturday mornings....they've always had a "special" feeling about them.   I suppose it started as a kid, because I didn't have to get up to go to school.

Good things always seemed to happen on Saturdays.

Maybe it was an afternoon at the movies, shopping with my sisters and Mom, playing games with neighborhood friends, sledding down the biggest hill in town,  taking a car ride to nowhere in particular with the family,  barbecue in the backyard,…

Profile Information

About Me:
Semi-retired, empty-nesters now thoroughly enjoying our little golden doodle, Banjo. What a wonderful addition Banjo has been to our family! I can't imagine a more perfect dog for us! We love to ski, kayak, boat and ride our motorcycles. We've "shortened" our mc rides as we just hate leaving our little Dood behind. We're thinking it may be time to trade in the bikes for a sports car (with a space in the back for our buddy).
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Mini goldendoodle - red in color - name Banjo.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
They are all just so adorable! And the low shed factor is a big plus!!
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Playing ball is a MUST on a daily basis....he's a great fielder! Boating, hiking and hide and seek.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Relationship Status:
Would you be willing to Dog Sit on occasion for other DoodleKisses members? (You are NOT committing to anything by saying yes - you are just saying you might be willing to do this if you were acquainted with the other member and the circumstances were right.)

I got your card today. We all know that Banjo is seriously photogenic, but the pictures you chose for his card are especially adorable. I love doodles in the snow. Merry Christmas.

Hi Carol, thanks so much for your sweet and supportive comments.  It's just another challenge on our journey with Murph.   We have him on a whole new diet and for the past two days he seems better.  We go back to the Vet tomorrow and we need to see if the anal glands are filling up again.  I want to do anything to avoid the surgery that removes them.  Some dogs end up not being able to control their elimination and ultimately have to be put down.  He got so sick from the anesthesia last week when they had to go in to flush them out that he couldn't eat anything for four days.  We were able to get him to drink, so he could stay home with us.  My heart went out to him.  He's been through so much....he needs a break.  You've been such a great friend...I so appreciate it.

Thank you so much!  Your comment about Finn's photos made MY day and it gave me a chance to stop by and enjoy your photos of Banjo (which I have admired since the day I joined DK :) BTW you two are so on our Bucket List. I think I'd melt dead away if I ever met Banjo in person.

I think you are correct! I hope when summer finally rolls around (I'm a 5th grade teacher), I can get some good photos and have a little time to try out some of the awesome tricks from the photography group. I will be needing lots of guidance! Having two black puppies is a challenge, but I'm counting on the many talented doodlers to steer me in the right direction.

She is from a breeder in KY called Sunset Hill Farm. I actually switched breeders last minute due to a timing issue and this breeder doesn't have everything I would ideally like in a breeder as far as health testing, but I was welcome at any time to go visit the parent dogs and puppies and I spent time with the breeder, her family, and all of her dogs and I couldn't be more thrilled with the puppy I got. Ragley is a joy!

Thank you, Carol! I just love looking at pictures of Banjo! You are a wonderful photographer and I am hoping to be able to capture Ragley as she grows as well as some of you pros on here!
