Bev loves Mac and Lucy's Page

Hi Bev.  We do love our "Sydney" girl even though she looks nothing like a Doodle.  We did pay premium $$$$s for her from a breeder.  We let the breeder know that we were disappointed in how Sydney turned out.  She made us feel like we were cruel and lacked compassion.  She suggested rehoming her.  We couldn't do that since Sydney started shedding at 6 months and we were already bonded with her.  Besides Sydney's terrible coat, she has had numerous health issues.  She has a very loud jumpy bark and has lots of nervous energy.  She needed to be placed in a home with lots of kids.   But we continue to take really good care of her and we work on her behavior constantly.  We moved our Mom in with us in June.  She has advanced Parkinson's showing signs of dimentia.  Sydney's barking is not helping matters in our household.  Our other Doodle, Olivia, on the other hand, is very calming for our Mom.

Hi, Bev. My sister Kathy and I have been trying to get over the initial expectation of what we had for a Labradoodle six years ago when we brought Sydney home.  We are still struggling through our disappointment.  As My sister Kathy said, Iit's like investing in a Rolls Royce but getting a Volkswagon.  There is nothing wrong with a Volkswagon (they are fabulous cars) but when you expect a Rolls........ It's all about expectations and deceptions from the breeders.  We just wish our breeder would have been honest.with us about the shedding and flat hair coat.  Then we would not have been expecting a change in our Doodle for her coat to come in.  It never did!.  Our Breeders's paper for our Sydney indicated that she was a 7 and 9 generation Australian Labradoodle with a Wool/Fleece Coat.   Sydney has a shedding hair coat.  How does one get over that deception.  We do love our Sydney but she has intuitively known that we were disappointed with the Doodle we brought home.  We say, shame on the breeder for not being honest.  We have done everything we can manage to give her the love she deserves.  The shedding and health issues which we have been dealing with are challenging for us.  She is our love bug and we feel so bad about being so disappointed because dogs sense our feelings (since they can sense cancer and seizures).  We hope she knows that we DO LOVE HER!  And we are sure you love Mac and Lucy!
