Training - Experiences, Challenges, and Mindsets

This group provides a "safe place" for members to share their experiences with training, celebrate "big and little successes" and gain insights as we encounter challenges, to support one another, and to explore how our mindset affects our training.

QUESTIONS REGARDING PUPPY BEHAVIORAL CONCERNS (less than 4 mos of age) are better placed in the Main Forum or the Puppy Madness Groups.  Once our Doodles reach the age of four to five months, they are ready to begin their obedience training, and this is the place to share experiences.

I STARTED A NEW CGC COLLAGE, BECAUSE WHEN I ADDED JACK DOODLE AND JAKE THE PICTURES BECAME TOO SMALL TO REALLY SEE....SO NOW WE HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM FOR MORE CGC GRADS!!!!!

Congratulations HATTIE!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THESE TRAINING GROUP CGC WINNERS!  Please remember to post a picture of your Doodle whenever they complete any training designation so that we can continue to add to our collage.  If I missed anyone here, also please let me know.

DeeDee, I have to actually run to training myself this morning with Murph, but this afternoon I'll paste your comments into a discussion so we can get you some feedback.  It kind of gets lost here.

Congratulations Gavin and BG!  I'm so proud of you.  BG, would you consider putting up a discussion on the training you did in preparation and the evaluation itself.  I think it would help others.  Guinness's test was two years ago, and I'm guessing things may have changed, so I think a current discussion would have some real value.

@DeeDee - could you cut  and past your comment here into a discussion.  I think we can give you more feedback if you put it in that format.

This behavior has come on slowly but I am noticing it more and more. I hate to admit it but Sheila has started growling at people when they come in the house.  These are strangers but I notice she is getting more and more grumpy/scared around people.  I socialize her ALOT, she goes with me places, etc.  I put her on a leash now to attach her to me when cleaning people, repairmen, etc. come.  I say NO or SHHT (our naughty sound).  If I isolate her from me, like put her in the bedroom she barks and barks.  Help.  My sweetheart is turning into a little snot!!
