Comment by Christine & Camus on February 26, 2013 at 3:28pm Adina, here is a good copy of the European Journal article.EJCP_Nov_2012.pdf
Comment by Camilla and Darwin on February 25, 2013 at 8:31pm Here is another video from TED talks that I LOVED. It's about bio-mimicry. Taking the functions and systems we see in nature and adapting them to our own technology and architecture. Really exciting stuff!

Comment by Christine & Camus on February 25, 2013 at 10:02am Just tried to read the pdf version and found it is not complete. I may be able to access a good copy tomorrow. I have university access to many scientific journals.
Comment by Christine & Camus on February 25, 2013 at 9:57am Adina, I have not had a chance to read the article yet, but a PDF version is attached.EJCP_2.pdf
Comment by Adina P on February 25, 2013 at 8:54am This website isn't a scholarly website, but perhaps someone can find the original study: http://www.drweilblog.com/home/2013/2/25/sit-on-the-floor-now-get-u... -- just thought it was interesting.
It's very inspiring, indeed, F!
Bonnie - it must have been an incredible experience for your husband to have been involved in putting a well in a village in Africa! And yes, our gov't moves sooooo slow on environmental projects. (groan)
Comment by F, Calla & Luca on February 20, 2013 at 7:25am Thanks Linda. I will watch it later when I have time. I can always use some inspiring stories.
Comment by Bonnie and Kona on February 20, 2013 at 7:17am Linda, Thank you so much for posting this. I really am grateful to have seen it. My DH is a civil/sanitary engineer who has spent his career working for clean water. He has even had the opportunity to put a well in a village in Africa. We are about to move to Hawaii where the waste water is only given primary treatment and then dumped into the ocean. The government has mandated that they have secondary treatment by 2030. It is appalling that it is taking so long. When DH was in college in the 70's the Lake Tahoe sewage treatment plant was doing tiertiary treatment... meaning that the water was potable after treatment. The knowledge is there but the understanding of how precious our earth's resources needs to be there, too. I've sent the link to DH. He will love this. We were dating when man went to the moon and watched it together in my parent's family room. ;o)
