But, it is almost over for another year.  Next week is the start of finals at the junior college where I am taking my digital art class.

Have a great summer break everyone.  There are countdowns on the boards at many local schools - everyone is counting, students, teachers, administrators.

They don't earn any GPA for E. Its zero... But, why do they wait til now to worry about their grades..? I feel bad for them... but they should have known that this was coming....

Funny, Kyoko.  Yes, I guess you have heard it all by now.  And I did not know that E was even a grade anymore.  If you get a 1.0 gpa for a D, what would a E be? 0.5 gpa?  About as funny as asking about "extra credit" after the semester ended.  At least we can laugh about it, now that we don't have to listen to it anymore.

Seniors are in panic mode when they began to see the reality of may not be graduating! Some of them come to me ( Social worker) and asking /telling me "Could you please change my grade from E to at least D?" " I tuned all of my work in but the teachers lost it! So I should be able to walk!" Really? They lost all of your work from the first, second and third 9 weeks, too? I am willing to do anything to help, but may be few months too late...? Let's look at the other options....

J  -  Lucky you! I've already gotten 3 e-mails asking about "extra credit."  REALLY - AFTER the semester has ended!  Where were they during the semester.  Oh my!  Glad that I'm retiring next year. I think I'm getting too old for this. (I teach graduate school at a health science center campus).

Congratulations J!!! I hope you continue to be e-mail free. Do you teach summer classes? Schools in MI are still waiting to hear from state leaders on how much snow day time we have to make up. They are debating about forgiving some of the time. My school should have been out the last day of May.

Final grades are in! (I teach college) .. so far no "Can you do something to bump up my grade?" emails... maybe I will get lucky this year.  Just a few requests to see final exams.

So True! We write off all our vet bills each year and prescriptions.

You can definitely add it into your $250 educator tax deduction.  But everyone knows you go well over that every year.

My tax guy says something about ...tax fraud?  He doesn't have a doodle:)
