Portland-area doodle people- this is a long shot, but I have to try. I have to go out of town on a long-planned trip 6/19-6/21. Charlie was originally supposed to be boarded, but can't due to canine papilloma virus. If I board him at the vet, he "gets" to be in isolation, which isn't all that nice for such a social little guy. His case is so far very mild with only one lesion in his mouth and it's small.

Would anyone out there know of someone or be someone who could take him or who might be a reliable house or pet sitter? He's only contagious to other dogs that have not had the virus, not to humans or to cats. Please contact me juliea1026 <at> gmail  <period> com if you have any ideas. Compensation to be discussed.

Debb so sorry to hear Oscar had surgery but glad he is recovering. Sounds like you have your hands full :) little stinker.

Unfortunately, we won't be making the IDOG doodle romp at Fido's May 5th. Oscar had intestinal obstruction surgery last week and he's under strict orders not to engage in rough housing/ running until the staples come out May 10th. Oscar had swallowed a neoprene/Velcro 'Quiet Spot' pet tag silencer (that dog will eat ANYTHING). It got stuck in his small intestine. He's doing well now and is recovering nicely. Sorry we won't be able to make the romp though.

I know so bummed I did not get to see Oscar when he was a puppy. Will see you for sure in the fall.

That's a shame, Sue... Due to schedules, illness (our doods'), and having a small puppy the opportunity to meet never worked out this season. Well, there's always next season!

Thank you, Sue, for sending out the IDOG doodle romp message. I was wondering about that yesterday as it usually occurs in the Spring... but the thought was gone before I could look into it!
