I can't figure out how to post pictures on this wall. But I posted one on my page of my son Bentley meeting his hopefully new puppy Bentley (puppies name).

Where is the best place to get pet insurance? Every person and puppy in the family deserves insurance for safety. Also Bentley the puppy might be sick. He is getting taken for a second opinion at another vet. The first vet thinks it might be from the pesticides from the lawn care people. He is getting blood testing back today so I will keep you posted on how it goes.

So I went with my best judgement! Today I was contacted back by the lady with the doodle here in town after making plans to get the puppy out of San Diego... I took my son with me to meet the 8mo old doodle here (F2 goldendoodle/poodle mix) and they were perfect together! He is so calm with my son and let my son crawl and grab on him- no nipping, running away or getting agitated. He just kisses and loved on him. I decided to tell the person in California I would not be able to take their puppy, it was a hard decision to make but after seeing how good the 9mo old doodle was with my son I felt he would fit in perfectly with our family. He is already crate trained, leash trained, potty trained, and very calm. I instantly fell in love when seeing them play together.

I know thats a lot of decisions to make in 1 day but I went with my best gut feeling and what I thought would be best for our family and my son. I will post a picture of us together at the park from todays meeting.

So I have a dilemma, the lady in town with the 9mo old doodle got back to me after 3 days. She wants me to meet up today. I feel bad and don't know what to do on a pup. I can't have 2 pups. Any advice?

I just saw a 36 inch crate with two doors at Big Lot's yesterday for $60.00 if your dad doesn't have one :)

You might want to join the "puppy madness" group, lot's of other people going though the same issues with a new puppy and great advice:

We look forward to those pictures when you get him home....

No I haven't crate trained my own dog before. I will be putting him in a kennel though when we are eating dinner and not home. Most of the time there is someone at our house between my wife and I working opposite schedules. When he is in the kennel it won't be for long and I will make sure he has toys, chews, and water.

I think my dad has a kennel in his garage I am going to check today. If not I will look on craigslist for a deal on one. Between my kids toys I am sure there will be enough for the little pup to chew on ha.

Romps sound like fun, we live near lots of parks and about 20m from red rock. So I am sure there will be lots of weekend walks. We also go to my family's farm and Cabin so he will get lots of play time outside. Now I just need to get a bigger car.

Romps are where we all get together at a local dog park, or someone's home to let the dogs play and socialize while we have fun watching them :)

He should probably be 4-5 months before the dog parks, but could probably have a house romp to help socialize sooner.  There are a few new puppies in the group, and a couple smaller doodles.

Yes, a name will come to you, he truly is beautiful.  Have you crate trained before?  I would highly suggest it for potty training, plus safety once the little one starts toddling :)
