Comment by Karen & Jackdoodle on March 15, 2013 at 7:55pm Heather, we have lots of dehydrator recipes in The Food Group.
Comment by BG and Gavin on March 15, 2013 at 7:33pm Heather - if you invest in a good dehydrator, there are lots of treats you can make. Sweet potato slices are a favorite here, but you can also do apples and other fruit and veggies. Also liver or chicken.
Comment by Heather & Daisy on March 15, 2013 at 3:19pm Daisy is (aparently) allergic to wheat and gluten.
Soooo cookies purchased from a store are quite hard to find that are gluten/grain free. We feed Daisy Natural Balance Duck and Potato and she loves it ... and they have cookies but they are quite expensive. Now she loves veggies so thats what I feed her for a treat (carrots and beans) but does anyone have a recipe or a website that I should visit for a recipe for homemade??
Thanks to all in advance :)
Comment by Donna K & Quincy on November 16, 2012 at 10:31am Honey is also a natural preservative and adding a little to any dog treat will help them keep better.
Comment by Carol and Banjo on November 16, 2012 at 10:16am While looking up something different to do with the soon to be leftover turkey I came upon this yummy sounding Turkey/Cranberry Doggie Treat. Thought others might be interested.

They look yummy, Chris. Look through the Treats Pages for more ideas: http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/dkcookbook/forum/topics/treats-1 or the Grain Free Treats. Look above for all the pages and topics.

Comment by Sally, Ditzy Mitzi & Sgt. Pepper on September 12, 2012 at 2:24pm Sorry, I didn't get back to computer to thank you, Tammy and Gracie and Kim and Abby. I have been overwhelmed with busy work and haven't had enuf time. I
truly appreciate the info. I have decided to make homemade treats for my "brat-doodles" as I no longer trust any that are on the shelves.
Comment by Kim, Abby & Beckett on September 7, 2012 at 6:18am The ASPCA's website can tell you what spices and foods are toxic to animals. But I do know cinnamon is good for both dogs and humans. It helps to regulate blood sugar and insulin levels. It also has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Some people I know actual sprinkle a little cinammon on their dog's food each morning.
Comment by Sally, Ditzy Mitzi & Sgt. Pepper on September 7, 2012 at 6:15am Thank you, Karen, I was hoping you would know. I needed to find a preservative
for the cookies I have been making, they seem to get tiny specks of mold on them even in the refrigerator after several days. I thought salt would be the answer and I only use 1/2 tsp at most in the recipe.
