Lucy is home.  We called at 9 this morning and they said the Dr. had been in and cleared her to go whenever we got there.  We was still very groggy because of her pain meds and has continued to be even since getting home.  About time for her next one she was a little more alert and she ate some dinner and drank almost a whole bowl of water.  She sort of moans a little every now and then, but for the most part she is just laying in her little pen.  Here are some pics from the day:

Sophie trying out Lucy's new house before we left to pick her up!

Sophie checking Lucy out right after she got home.

Got her one of the blow up e-collars instead of the plastic one.  It seems to be working for now!

I'm not sure if that was the hard part or if the recovery will make it seem like the easy part, but at least it is over.  We had to drop her at the Care Center by 9am.  They said they would get her checked in and possibly go ahead and start some fluids and have her ready to go after the Surgeons morning appointments.  They called right at 1:00 to say that they were taking her back to prep her and that would take about 25 mins and then the surgery would be some where between 30 mins and an hour and 15 mins.  Said the Doctor would call us when she was starting to wake up.  He finally called right around 3:00 and said that everything went as expected.  That it was a CCL tear as he expected and that there were no surprises so all was well.  We were very happy to hear that as she was getting worse by the day while we were waiting.  He last couple days were pretty miserable for her.  He said she was starting to roll her eyes but wasn't fully awake yet.  We have to call at 9 am tomorrow to see how she is doing and to find out what time she can come home.  We are all set at home with a new, larger crate for their room for night time and we have put a wire top on the ex pen that will be in the family room where she will be during the day so that she wouldn't be able to jump up should the door bell ring or she hears a noise.  So, we are just ready to get her home and get this recovery process started so it can be over.   I'll try and update with some pics tomorrow once she is home and all settled in.

glad to hear that the surgery went well.  Keeping a doodle still might prove to be difficult though, especially when she starts to feel a little better.  Good luck  :)

That's good news, hopefully the worrying part is now over.  It will be very hard to keep her still but it sounds like you have a good plan to prevent jumping.  Good luck and I will await updates when you get her home.

Glad to hear the surgery went well and at least this part is over now. Hopefully this was the worst part, and the recovery itself will be easier than you imagine.

Glad there were no suprises.  Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.

Glad to hear everything went well. I will be thinking of you guys and hoping the recovery goes better than expected.  HUGS.

I am so glad the surgery went well.  It is really hard for us during that wait time.  Hopefully all will be easier during the recovery time.  Just keep in mind you will have a happy healthy Doodle at the end.

yay! glad things are going well. take care.

Sending our best wishes for a speedy recovery!

So glad to hear the surgery went well and that she's coming around. At least for the first few days, she's not likely to do too much. I do so hope her recovery goes well. It will be hard but she'll likely be sore so perhaps won't want to move too much to begin with.

I am glad the surgery went well and hoping for a speedy recovery.

So glad that the surgery went well. I don't know if the patient is a big chewer, but maybe a variety of chew treats/toys, doled out one at a time to keep her interested, would help occupy her enough to keep her still?

Thanks Becka ... I had a discussion a week or two ago to try and get some good ideas for low calorie chews for her as she will be so inactive she can't afford to eat a lot of extra calories.  We picked up a split antler today to see if that will spark her interest in Antlers.  We are also going to try and get some bones from the butcher and remove the marrow.  I'll also try some frozen pumpkin in her kong or maybe some yogurt.  We are also going to try and soak her other antlers in some broth to see if she will spark her interest in those.
