Sensitive Skin
My 2 year old doodle had a "hot spot" last month that took a lot of antibiotics and prednisone to clear.
My question is what are other doodle owners doing for their dogs with sensitive skin? We are using frontline so we know it is not fleas. Any advice will be appreciated.

A hot spot is an infection, not an indication of sensitive skin. Here is an article on prevention and treatment.

Murph also had a hot spot last month....same treatment. I just keep my eye on him to see if starts to lick any other areas so we can get it treated quickly.

We are having the same situation with BOTH dogs although I just noticed late last night that Myla's back footis bright read from licking I believe. I started to go through the food group last night to see if it would be from switching their food a couple weeks ago. We wanted to go grain free and they were eating salmon because the vet recommended she had such itchy sensitive skin because of the lamb we had her on. So we switched with not prblems until I wanted "BETTER" food for them which is grain free, so we switched to Canidae pure sea and now BOTH dogs are itching like crazy and we are going to return the food. Problem is we are going to try Orijen 6 fish because DH wants that one for them but I don't know that switching from salmon grain free to 6 fish grain free is going to make a huge difference. How do we know if it's the food, the time of year?Something from their walks? You just don't know where to start. We tried to get their nails clipped and they squezzed us in and said they are booked throught htis week. We are also currently looking to change vets because that in itself is ridiculous! Sorry-I just got carried away because other people have itchy dogs also.
