Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
My 5 month old labradoodle has had yet another coat change, can anyone tell me what the different type of coat growing through is? It is soft but still quite short so far.. Thanks!

You need to wait until he is at least a year before his coat will be done. The "Dreaded Coat Change" doesn't even start until around 8 months to a year or so. If you look at photos on my page our blond doodle, Owen, had some interesting hairdos over the months. I noticed on your page that Gypsy went through a bunny fuzz coat like Owen's, too. While an F1 Labradoodle could have a less thick coat than an F1 Goldendoodle, I have no predictions for an F2. It's a fun adventure as each coat type comes in and then goes to end up with a new look altogether. Gypsy has beautiful eyes. ;o)

Kinda like Christmas, waiting to see what you're going to get! And very unpredictable. Here are a few photos of Penny - look at all the stages she went through. It was at least a year before her coat finally settled in.
