Labradoodle breeders...need your expertise on coat

All I can say is that it is not as curly/wavy as most of my F1b's that didn't shed. I had one puppy with a flatter appearing coat that looks like the pics you posted and we were worried it may shed. But by texture it was very silky fleece and NOT hair feeling. It ended up not shedding. How does the coat feel?

Thanks for the reply. I havent felt it. These pups are in the region but another town. I will be able to see in person in 2 weeks when on holidays. The f1b mother doesnt shed and the f1 father sheds slightly. These are the parents.

Are they standing on top of a house?

I have no idea about the puppy. Halas had a little bit of wave at 4 weeks, but not very much, and he doesn't shed. The coat on the puppy looks pretty flat, but you can see some wave in his ears. I think you'll have to see the puppy in person, and, of course, hug it and kiss it to really see what it feels like.

Yes they are on top of a dog house!! Arent they gorgeous (the parents) When I am on holidays I would like to sneak away from my DH to see this baby....lol.

KIngston I wrote the owner and he says it feels like "Bunny fur" soft and silky. My Abby felt so soft I described it "chinchilla" so probably will end up with fur like Abby. Abby is a goldendoodle though.

"Bunny fur" is definately not going to be a coarse hair coat, as long as it doesnt change from puppy coat to adult coat. I just heard back from an owner that got a fleece coat from us, and now that the puppy is blowing her puppy coat it is changing from fleece to wool. Still not shedding though.

I'm not a breeder but you're getting my opinion anyways. He looks the same as my Yankee as a puppy and he doesn't shed at all. Here is the litter Yankee was in at 3 weeks old.

I don't know, there were 6 pups in the litter. I don't think he is one of these. He doesn't have any white on him.

In my experience there is no way to predict coats of pups
you wont know for sure until the pup gets its adult coat in between 8-12mths old,
especially with Labradoodles no matter the generation
